Hillary Clinton broke her elbow late Wednesday, June 17th, on her way to the White House, delaying her schedule. She will have surgery next week.
A week earlier Margaret Thatcher broke her upper arm and required surgery to insert a pin to repair the break.
The 83-year-old has been recovering in hospital since breaking her upper left arm last week but doctors have decided that the injury is not healing as quickly as they would like.
Hillary Clinton has expressed her admiration for Margaret Thatcher in the past and was labeled 'The New Thatcher" in her run for the White House.
Following the Iron Lady's career from afar, Clinton particularly admired Thatcher's ability to adapt herself to fit the job. "My goodness, she changed her hair, she changed a lot of things," Clinton told a British interviewer
Both women have broken their arms within a week of each other leading some to speculate that Clinton may have broken her arm in sympathy and admiration for Thatcher.
