Located close to the bridge is the area where the Hindus of Karachi come for their bath or Ashnaan. They purify themselves in the waters of this river.

Currently the Pakistani govt. has undertaken a project to revive and restore this area. The old Hindu temple beneath Native Jetty Bridge and all the old trees have been retained. The manmade and natural monuments will be renovated and beautified along with the bridge.

The project is spread over eight-and-a-half acres. It includes 135,000 square feet of restaurant and retail space and an additional 172,000 square feet of landscaped parks, plazas and walkways and an 800 seat amphitheatre. It will comprise 100 restaurants, shops, vendor kiosks and carts, highlighted by a one-kilometer-long bridge that will be transformed into a new food resort with public spaces that take advantage of views of Karachi harbour and the surrounding mangroves

Plus, you'll get a lot of crows & eagles in this area too. :) They come for the scraps that people throw off this bridge to feed the fishes.
