Ho, Ho, Ho$ed as 200 illegal Tamil migrants are preferring to stay inVancouver, versus Toronto. Hey, what's not to like? Free housing, welfare, medical care, schooling, generous Canadian old age pension for life when they reach 65 years old. Great weather etc.
It has been reported at 174 illegal Tamils (131 men-43 women, plus their husbands still in detention awaiting release) who hit the British Columbia shores this summer have chosen Vancouver for their home. The 493 illegal Tamils you may recall, claimed refugee status and poverty, despite paying $50,000 for each man, woman and child, certainly belies the refugee moniker.Though this new development will certainly come with a new set of challenges, as British Columbia deals with already bursting at the seams welfare and social housing, a crisis looms for British Columbians who will now be HO, HO, HO$ED this Christmas season as they share these stretched to the limit services with our new citizens.
There is no word from Vancouver’s Mayor Gregor Robertson on how to deal with housing this new block of citizens. There is no word from the BC Liberals on where the money will come to feed, cloth, medical services etc, in addition to providing pocket money for the new arrivals.
What has been stated is the increased cost in services to welcome our new citizens will amount to a couple of million dollars a month in welfare, housing and assorted services.
Though Mayor Robertson’s first order of the day when elected was to eradicate homelessness during his term has been overshadowed by the recent failure of the $700 million dollar Olympic Village debt and the vacancies and unsold condos which followed.
Well perhaps an answer is in the wind for Vancouver Mayor Gregor’s conundrum over what to do with the remaining unsold units at the Olympic Village.
The illustrious Mayor Robertson and Vancouver taxpayers can give the greatest Christmas present of all and use these Olympic Condos to house the 200 + illegal Tamils.
This free housing for the 200 plus illegal Tamils will assist the Mayor in his end homelessness agenda, while it’s citizenry of taxpayers who elected the Mayor will enjoy the smugness of opening their pocketbooks threefold.
One, the quest to reduce homelessness a bit will have been fulfilled, two Vancouver taxpayers will certainly be eager to assist the transition of the 200 of 500 illegal Tamils in Metro Vancouver (who know how to play the game), to feel welcome on their dime, while three, the Christmas spirit and brotherhood the new arrivals will witness the generosity firsthand by Vancouverites during this holiday season.
While free housing of 200 plus illegal Tamils into these Olympic Village million dollar suites may seem out of the realm of possibility, one reality that is for certain, is somewhere there is another shipload of illegal Tamils in Thailand awaiting word when they too can come and join the Christmas spirit that is Canada’s generous immigration system.
While the Christmas Season is upon us, Vancouver taxpayers will soon get a harsh lesson on the gift of giving. Taxpayers recently told they are on the hook to pay off the Olympic Village debt at $39,000 a day or a couple of million dollars a month for the next 30 years in addition will now be helping to pay for your new 200 plus illegal arrivals to the tune of a million dollars a month. Certainly with interest included.
Merry Christmas, and to all a guaranteed payday for life, at least for the many illegal Tamils who now make Vancouver their home and the shipload of Tamils off Thailand when news reaches them will soon be arriving on a one horse open barge.

Barry: There's a pandemic that's spread throughout the Western World and it's called political correctness--PC for short. The PC pandemic wasn't officially recognized and diagnosed until the late 80s in spite of the fact that it began festering in the 60s and had its roots in the 50s.
PC is an extremely pernicious virus, in that it attacks the human mind, soul. and nervous system, as opposed to the physical body. In other words, otherwise normal, healthy-looking, and prima facie intelligent people have succumbed to the PC virus.
Those that are afflicted with the PC virus will exhibit the following symptoms: A complete and total failure to think for themselves; a complete and total failure to distinguish between up and down, backwards and forwards, and black and white; an inability to add two and two and come up with four; a fanatical attachment to a particular political and social ideology along with a blind/faith-based/dogmatic and fanatical attachment and defense of any politician and/or public figure that espouses that ideology; an inability to distinguish between shit and shine; and above all, an inability to realize that they are, in essence, committing a slow and collective suicide.
Unfortunately for the rest of us that are immune to the PC virus (due to the grace of God or some benevolent universal force), we have to suffer these PC mental and emotional basket cases because we've allowed them to seize the reins of political power to an extent, here in the U.S., Canada, and throughout much of the Western World.

PC think is a child of the liberal moral superiority. It's like MSG. It makes political and social policy easier for the mob to swallow, and offers an excuse to surrender independent critical thought in favor of blind acceptance of said liberal moral ascendancy in political execution of social policy. The twin sister of PC think is the moral superiority of the victim mentality.

Yes! The victim mentality! No doubt! "Progressives" are anything but "progressive". They are the most backward-thinking/retro/provincial and emotionally immature individuals out there. Completely out of touch with their own core of being and humanity in general. Indeed they're incorrigibly narcissistic, self-righteous, and delusional. I get a laugh out of the "progressives" when they denounce established main-stream religions! HA! With the exception of Muslim/Jihadist/throat-cutting savages, whom the "progressives" cheer on and absolutely adore, they are the biggest religious zealots going. And their Gods are the likes of Obama and those of his ilk. JEEZ! Gag me with a spoon!

Thanks for your comments everyone, as you say PC inhibits one to think for themselves, or what I like to call political bandwaggonery, something Vangroovy is well known for, a politician speaks and all ohh and ahh much like the South Park, Cherokee Hair Tampon episode in which Ms. Information touts, "It comes from Organic Native American Cherokee Hair" so it must be good.
As for Canada and North America certainly something has to be done, when our own citizens continually do without in both our countries due to political correctness, or ethnic vote grubbing plain and simple.

I have to disagree with the "ethnic vote grabbing" point. I agree the PC mentality is a sham. Many times, it becomes what we used to call "reverse rascism/sexism" back in school. A truly free and equal society does not need affirmative action, or PC checks and balances. Everyone is the same, in the eyes of the government. The fact that the government choses to stand behind one group, rather than the majority, does not make it ethnic vote grabbing, however. Like any savvy politician, they are aware of who is voting, and want to sway that vote in their direction.
The government stands behind them not because they are grabbing votes from one group over another. The simple fact is that new Canadians (and I would guess new Americans as well) are more likely to vote. Voter apathy is a serious problem in this country. The two groups it seems to effect the least are new citizens and seniors, because they realize how important it is, and have seen first hand what can happen if the people do not hold their government accountable for its actions. Politicians know which side of their bread is buttered. They pandy to those who will actually vote; sadly voters of any colour, age, or gender are a minority in this country these days.
As to Mayor Robertson, the man is a hypocritical weasel. Just take a look at the bike lanes he had put in before they even voted on the issue, in the face of huge opposition by the businesses that were to be affected by the change in traffic patterns. And the BC government is no help, because at the best of times the BC Liberal party is only concerned with making sure they can increase their own wages. An overhaul is required within our political and immigration systems, but no one at any level of government has the stomach to risk being labelled as un PC… that might interfere with getting re-elected and if they lose their seat in government, they have to work more than two or three days a year.
Of course, if I were a Tamil migrant, I would prefer to stay in <?xml:namespace prefix = st1 />Vancouver over Toronto as well. Why move from the beautiful, and usually balmy, south west coast to Toronto? Granted, there are concerns about the involvement or presence of the Tamil Tigers, which need to be dealt with, as well as the fact that, by stopping in another country first, that was equally safe, they are not technically entitled to claim refugee status. But realistically, what could the government do to keep them out, apart from sink a ship full of women and children. They would just find another patch of coast, get ashore, sink the ship and disappear. Sadly, that happens often enough already.
