Thanks for the comments on the original B&W, I wasn't so happy with the finish of the image, so I have reworked it to a contrasty colour image. I think it's a better shot overall.
I was looking to take some more unusual images of the area I was in, rather than the usual tourist crap and I stumbled on this. It kind of sickened me, so I wanted to show the other side of Milan. The idea that only metres away are shops selling €5,000 dresses and shoes.
It started me thinking of maybe doing a different take on the London, Paris, Mlan, New York that you see in shops advertising an inconsequential brand when there are people in these very cities have completely nothing.
Sometimes I feel
Like I don't have a partner
Sometimes I feel
Like my only friend
Is the city I live in
The city of angels
Lonely as I am
Together we cry
I drive on her streets
'Cause she's my companion
I walk through her hills
And she knows who I am
She sees my good deeds
And she kisses me windy
I never worry
Now that is a lie
||:I don't ever want to feel
Like I did that day
Take me to the place I love
Take me all the way:||
It's hard to believe
That there's nobody out there
It's hard to believe
That I'm all alone
At least I have her love
The city she loves me
Lonely as I am
Together we cry
||:I don't ever want to feel
Like I did that day
Take me to the place I love
Take me all that way:||
Under the bridge downtown
Is where I drew some blood
Under the bridge downtown
I could not get enough
Under the bridge downtown
Forgot about my love
Under the bridge downtown
I gave my life away
Under the bridge, watch it here...

Milan’s homeless.
A recent survey conducted by the prestigious Bocconi University of Milan has revealed that there are 1,600 homeless people living in the city.
However the number has surprised the organizations that deal with the problem on a daily basis, especially the Red Cross, which has expressed its reserves on the methodology used for the survey.
Alberto Bruno, member of the Red Cross for the province of Milan, underlined the difference between the city area and its suburbs, stating that if the number of homeless is related to the city it is too high, if it is related to the city and its suburbs, with more than 4 million inhabitants, then the figures are in no way close to the real numbers
