One of two people who were seriously hurt during a blaze that destroyed a large part of Table Mountain's left shoulder - Devil's Peak - has died in hospital.
The victim - a homeless man - was carried from burning bushes on Wednesday early morning by volunteer fire fighters. He was immediately transferred to hospital due to the severity of his burns. Most of his body was burnt. "His skin was falling off when we carried him," one of the fire fighters said.
A woman, allegedly his partner, was found shortly after wards, and hospitalised as well. Her condition remains unstable.
