Hong Kong International Airport named world's best
American Airports may be handling large number of passengers everyday and may be one of busiest airport but they haven't got any ranking in the best airport survey. Hong Kong's swanky airport has been adjudged as the best Airport in the world.
The Hong Kong International Airport was named the world's best for the seventh year in an annual survey of passengers, with Asian airports dominating the top positions in the list. The annual survey conducted by Skytrax, a U.K.-based consultancy, judges airports on more than 40 categories, ranking them after collecting 8.2 million questionnaires completed by passengers over a 10-month period.
The passengers judged 190 airports on factors like shopping, dining, staff courtesy, baggage delivery and wait-times at security, reports the Age.com.au.
Hong Kong, with its reputation for efficiency and comfort, bested airports in Singapore and Seoul, South Korea, which ranked second and third.
Also in the top 10 were airports in Kansai, Japan, and Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
Airports in Europe - Munich, Germany; Copenhagen, Denmark; Zurich, Switzerland; and Helsinki, Finland - took most of the remaining top spots. Cape Town, South Africa rounded out the list at No.10.
Missing from the list were any airports in the United States.

I was on transit in HKIA, and saw the awesome profile of the CX B747-400. I just took a snapshot of this "a day in the life in HKIA."

The cleanest, most organised, efficient, tidiest and nicest airport I've ever been in. It was spotless. Heathrow take note! You could learn a few lessons here.
Our check in was painless and stress free!

I took my photo of Hong Kong International Airport from the Ngong Ping 360 skyrail that connects Tung Chung and the Tian Tan Buddha at Ngong Ping. The skyrail affords some spectacular views of Lantau Island and a great aerial look at Chep Lap Kok Island, where HK International was built via land reclamation.

Located off Lantau Island, Hong Kong international Airport is the entry point to major Asian cities and gateway to mainland China. This airport is, for me, one of the busiest in the world. It's a port, a mall and a shopping center in one roof.

I've been to Hong Kong twice in seven years. My first time there was in 2001 when Chek Lap Kok was just opened. My second time was in December last year when I brought my family for holiday. The airport had improved tremendously in all aspect. Yes, no doubt that this airport can be considered as one of the best in the whole world. Besides the state of the art architectural design, this airport provides comfort and friendly environment. Thanks to the efficient workers who make everything possible and handy. Even the trolley ladies had a broad smile in their face. What else do you need for the first impression?

The Hong Kong International Airport is the best airport I have been to. Not only is it clean, and hosts many interesting stores, its architecture and open-space atmosphere creates a very good mood for traveling.

I arrived in Hong Kong airport at crack of dawn. The airport has a peacefulness to it then. Though, it definitely becomes a bustling place as the sun rises.

Hong Kong International Airport (HKG), it's big, it's busy, it's clean and tidy, it's super efficient and easy to get around, and it's vastly superior to it's American and European counterparts. Despite the hustle and bustle, it's staff were friendly and very helpful.
I was on my way home to San Francisco after spending two months traveling from London to Hong Kong by train, and HKG certainly made the final leg of my trip easier.
