Hope in Kauhajoki - Victim on Road to Recovery

A 21 year-old female student rushed to hospital with gunshot wounds to the head, is tonight said to be on the road to recovery after two operations. The student at Kauhajoki School of Hospitality was believed shot by deranged gunman named as Matti Saari, 22, who turned the gun on himself and died in hospital. The student has not been named.

One of the victims of Tuesday's vocational school shooting is well on her way to a recovery after undergoing two operations, Matti Lehto, the superintendent of Tampere University Hospital, said Wednesday morning.

Dr Lehto added the woman's condition appeared promising.
