Hossein Mousavi has stated that is he ready for martyrdom as riots and protests continue to take place in Tehran today.

The runner-up in the election said if he was arrested, he urged people to go on strike.

In a letter to the Guardian Council, Mousavi stated that the 'election rigging' was planned months in advance of the June elections. In this letter he also insists that the vote results will be annulled.

Iranian opposition leader Mousavi, in letter to Guardian Council, says "election rigging" was planned months ahead.

On his website, Ghalam News, his letter states:

"All these counts of irregularities plus many others that were mentioned in previous letters ... are reasons to cancel the election nationwide."
