MASSIVE EXODUS LINED UP; OVER 10,000 REACH TROOPS SEEKING REFUGE

MULLAITTIVU: THE FINAL massive exodus of civilians into government-held cleared areas from the remaining New Safety Zone areas was fast swelling in the past two hours as more than 5,000 – 10,000 escapees have already lined up from a distance to entire government held areas.
As the clock struck 5.00 p.m. Friday (15) evening (local time) KARAYANMULLIVAIKKAI troops screened 1405 civilians and took them in after they crossed NANTHIKADAL lagoon, adjacent to the New Safe Zone through the new opening made by the troops on Thursday (14).
Similarly, a massive crowd of about 10,000 escapees, lined up in the 53 Division - held VELLAMULLAVAIKKAL area are being now screened and subsequently facilitated by the troops, as this report was filed to the www.army.lk. The sudden explosion of this exodus is reflective of the desperate developments in the remaining Tiger - held area which is almost reaching the zero – point each hour.

LTTE Sea Tiger leader Soosai’s wife, son, Soosai’s sister-in-law and her son have been taken into custody by the Sri Lanka Navy off the coasts of Mullaitivu while attempting to escape by boat. A load of cash too was recovered and is in the process of being counted, says the Navy spokesman.www.adaderana.lk
Rupees 575,000 in cash, 2.5 kilograms of gold and five gold biscuits were among the valuables in possession of Soosai’s wife and relatives who were taken into Navy detention this morning.

Both Sri Lankan Army 58th and 53rd Divisions seem to be just over 1km away from the 59th Division and expected to merge tonight. At the moment 59 Div is engaging with a newly made earth bund on its way towards the 58th and 53rd Divisions. Special Forces,DP Units and Commandos have infiltrated the tiger held area on the look out for the High Profile LTTE leader. At the moment 1.2 kilometer area remained under LTTE and 200 Cadres fight for last land. Ltte Leader Prabakaran, Pottu Amman and Susai are still believed to be trapped in this small land and their destiny is to seal within the next few hours.
According to the latest Information coming from the battle ground, a huge fire and loud explosion has been reported in the civilian safety zone.(Photos Attached)Meanwhile 3 Suicicde Female cadres surrended to SL army and said around 150 Suicide caders are still there.
It is reported that the SLA 58th Division has resorted to the use of gas masks amidst indiscriminate fire setting by the LTTE. The masked troops are in a strenuous effort to rescue the trapped civilians amongst the large fire.
Military sources indicated that as more civilians are drained out, there is a high possibility of the LTTE attempting a large scale civilian catastrophe. Recently returned civilians have confirmed the Tigers have buried a substance, similar to white phosphorous, in large gunny sacks in and around civilian settlements.
The final stage of the World Largest hostage rescue mission now has started. So far Over 7000 civilians have been rescued. At the moment 195500 civilians have come to the Government controlled areas. Among them around 117000 came after the Pudumatalan Hostage Opeartion,the world largest rescue operation 1st Phase.
Sri Lankan Army 58 and 59 divisions are heading from southern and northern areas and would link sealing off the Mullaithivu coastal line soon. Troops only need to advance 1.5 kilometres to seal off the entire coastal line.
The final rescue mission on the way; LTTE continue to fire at escaping civilians Sri Lankan soldiers have reached the final phase of their hostage rescue mission as they opened up an escape route for the last group of hostages held in the Vellamullivaikkal area last morning (May 14).
According to the latest battlefield reports, troops of 58 Division were just 1.5 km short of dominating the whole northeastern coast of the Island by last night. The expected linkup of the 58 and 59 Divisions, who are merely 2km apart on the coast will mark the total liberation of the coastline in the Island nation from the terrorist hold.

Looks like infighting is consuming what's left of the LTTE.

The infamous "government doctor" who used to issue various statements such as "cluster bombing" (no, Not Dixon from Mannar) and shelling has surrendered to the 58 Division.
