A Teenager in Bundanoon, Australia Posted a Photo of a Pile of Money on Facebook, Leading To a Botched Robbery.

A teenager posting a photo of money on Facebook appears to have led to a robbery attempt. According to May 29, 2012 reports in Australian media, a 17-year-old was helping her grandmother count a pile of money when she posted a photo of the cash on her Facebook page.

Two robbers then went to the house of the teen's mother, demanding to speak with the girl about the cash. The mother explained the girl no longer live there.

The thieves took a look through the house anyway and made off with a small amount of money and other item.

No one was injured.

Local police issued the following warning after the Facebook robbery:

"The incident has prompted police to remind users of social media to take extreme caution when posting photographs and personal information."
