"If the members of the plenary session decide to agree on the interpellation, I am obliged to follow the decision," Agung told newsmen here Sunday.

He said interpellation was the right of legislators to have the government clarify a policy.

He said it was possible that people including legislators had different perceptions on the government`s decision to increase fuel oil prices.

"There are legislators who understand the situation but there are also lawmakers who have yet to understand the government`s measure," Agung said in response to the intention of the National Awakening Party (PKB) faction in DPR to propose an interpellation on the fuel price increase.

Thus, Agung let DPR members or factions strive for an interpellation in order to make them understand the government`s measure to raise fuel prices.

In terms of the substance, according to the house speaker, the proposal for an interpellation was understandable, an expression of the people`s aspirations.
