2nd Presidential Debate 2012- Highlights from Mitt Romney, President Obama's Testy Debate

Let us not allow the media to decide for us who won the 2nd Presidential debate. ABC was shamelessly in Obama's corner misrepresenting the facts.

Last night October 16, 2012 we watched an incumbent President with an indefensible record debate a former Massachusetts governor, who has been an exceptionally successful businessman, dedicated father, and job creator in both the private sector and political arena. In the first debate our stumbling President who has revealed his ideological differences with our Constitution as well as our religious institutions was unashamedly supported by our leftist US media propaganda machine.

Why is the media telling us who won the Presidential debate?

Despite the fact that Mitt Romney was even stronger in the second debate than he was in the first in which it was decidedly a win for him, due to Obama’s inexplicable lack of oxygen at the Denver altitude of 5000 feet. Just because President Obama was more aggressive and forthright, ABC virtually declared that the election was already won by the incumbent. All President Obama did was dispute the truth and continue to defend the decline of America under his rule. All the President did was exactly what he did before in the first debate with a clearly spoken, thoroughly engaged, Mitt Romney who had the facts in his command, and that was generalize, and make promises for the next 4 years. The debate was nearly a parody of the first only with Obama being given more time to pontificate over his empty performance as a leader of the free world!

Mitt Romney won the contest solidly, but we must be reminded that the deck of cards was stacked against him from the beginning. Obama badly needed a win and the media was going to give it to him no matter what. The truth is not only did Mitt Romney handily out debate Obama and confront him with the lies that we have been accustomed to hearing from our President, but the former Massachusetts Governor was more convincing and refused to back down from President’s rhetorical banter.

In all this I must ask two questions. 1) Since when does any news agency have the authority or right to predict or proclaim the outcome of an election? 2) Is true objective reporting dead in America, especially when the major news networks simply regurgitate what the White House tells them to say?

Answer to question number 1.
Under the free press guaranteed to the citizens of this nation under the US Constitution that means that we shall not have the reporting of that press being dictated to them as though America is under a Soviet style, fascist state.

Answer to question number 2. Objective reporting is far different than editorializing. When an event is portrayed through interpretation instead of actuality, that is editorializing not reporting. When the bias of a news agency is contingent upon what the government wants out of them, then we are surely living in a society where the press is a controlled government sanctioned agency under the guise of objectivity that is being used as an instrument of propaganda. True journalism is dead in America.

Proof that the White House dictates headlines to the US media

We must keep in mind that thanks to a recent article in the New York Times that there was, what should have been a grave reminder of the loss of free press in this nation, when they admitted that the White House does indeed dictate news content to the US media. For such an admission to come from a source like the New York Times, American must surely be appalled, but an apathetic public can allow the devil’s play to go on indefinitely.

ABC's moderator biased as you could be

Moderator, Candy Crowley of ABC tried to act objectively, but couldn’t help herself. She gave more talk time to the President, agreed with him on at least one point, and barely allowed Romney any time to talk about the Solyndra debacle along with Fast and Furious which would have opened up discussion into the multifaceted quagmire of Obama White House corruption in favor of GOP leadership. Case closed, ABC was not going to have Romney making a fool of their precious president!

Obama's 2 most amazing and blatant lies

There were two telling moments in the debate where Romney correctly stated that the US has been producing less oil and gas due to government interference with access to federal lands for exploration. Only publicly owned leases were producing oil and gas at increased levels. Obama argued this point and lied. ABC sparingly admitted Obama had been mistaken, but quickly excused the out right lie by saying that American weren’t worried about the argument, they just wanted affordable gas at the pump.

Another poignant moment came when Romney asserted that the White House had refused to acknowledge that the US embassy attacks in Benghazi and through out the Arab world had been planned terrorist attacks. Romney should have gone further to drive home the point that President Obama and Hillary Clinton both appeared on Arab TV using $70,000.00 tax payer’s funds to denounce US actions and the little known film that supposedly offended the Muslim world. This was the course of action pursued by the Obama White House and Secretary of State rather than identify the true source of the killings and destruction-the Muslim Brotherhood. Romney was not given enough time to hammer that message home as Moderator, Candy Crowley was changing the topic to be discussed.

Do not allow the media to form an opinion for you

Despite what the polls are saying, despite what the US mass media wants you to think, ABC had no right to stand firmly in the President’s corner and proclaim victory. That was not only an error and an unethical practice in objective journalism, but it clearly informs us of what kind of society we now live in. Journalists are not experts. Reporters are not oracles. They are human beings. Their opinions are nothing more than that-opinions. But, when they run interference for a Presidency that has been destructive to the Republic over the last 4 years, then we are not only in a crisis. We are witnessing the time tested coup of free enterprise, personal freedom, and the American way of life.
