How are you affected?

So I've been reading up a lot about this whole financial crisis deal and I think to my self "how is this affecting me?" The answer- nothing, well, nothing that I can think of. Truth is, in my own little world here in Kunshan, I'm not seeing a lot happening. Prices for most things are cheaper now that they were before the crisis, my rent hasn't changed, nor do I find myself in debt. Perhaps I'm not understanding it, perhaps I am just clueless as to what's happening around me.

So I call on some of you out there to help me understand how this crisis is affecting you and what aspects of your finances are being hit. Is is people who have invested in stock? or is home owners? At the moment I am neither one.

And I would also like to know how worse those in the know think it's going to get? Are we heading to a complete global meltdown?? What damages can we expect of the future and what can we do to help protect ourselves.
