Hugo Chavez stated today that he will restore the Venezuelan ambassador in Washington as he spoke at the Summit of the Americas after speaking with Hillary Clinton and other U.S. officials.

Chavez expelled the U.S. ambassador to his country in September in solidarity with leftist President Evo Morales of Bolivia. Washington reciprocated.

Morales booted out the Venezuelan ambassador before, accusing him of helping the opposition incite violence in his country.
He has however recently warmed up to Obama and told him, 'I want to be your friend'.

I think the Chavez announcement was made to the press on Saturday, but according to the White House office, he didn't exactly speak to the US delegation at the time.  Of course, that was 24 hours ago.

Chavez has an army of thugs outside of the offices of the mayor of two major cities, preventing the mayors, who are members of opposition parties to Chavez, from entering their offices.

These are the tactics of a thug, which Chavez is, and an anti-democrat, which Chavez is.

When Andrew Young was ambassador to the UN, having been a leader of the Civil Rights movement, and being the first African-American person in that position, he was able to deflect the insanity that was directed at the US by corrupt third world regimes.

That is what Obama is doing now. Obama is in a position to take away the capacity to demonize the US because Chavez and the Castro bros and similar leaders are also under their own politically correct gun.

But, this will backfire on Chavez. We will not tolerate repression of his political rivals, and we will help them safeguard their rights.
