VIRGINIA BEACH - Human remains were found yesterday in a wooded area not far from Mount Trashmore in Virginia Beach, and police are investigating.
Police spokesman Wayne Gilbert said investigators have not yet determined the age, race or gender of the person whose remains were found around 4:30 p.m. in a wooded area near the intersection of South Independence Boulevard and Holland Road.
GIlbert said the person who found the remains called 911 to report them. Police determined that the remains were indeed human, but that's as far as investigators were able to get on Tuesday.
An Investigation is on going the police are still on the scene. The remains are to be removed this morning. With the missing teens in Tidewater it's hard to say who it is dental records are going to have to ID this person also facial reconstruction according to the police department.
