Hurricane Bill, the first Atlantic hurricane of the season, is on track to Bermuda. Hurricane Bill is gaining strength out in the Atlantic and is expected to become a Category 3 hurricane. It is expected Bill will bypass the East Coast of the U.S. and make a landfall in Canadian Maritimes -- the provinces of Nova Scotia or Newfoundland.
“Bill is still a very remote threat to the U.S. mainland at this time,” said Dan Leonard, a meteorologist with WSI Corp. in Andover, Massachusetts. “The primary threat is first to Bermuda.”
"Bill is expected to become a major hurricane tonight or Wednesday," the NHC said
