I am a Conservative trapped in a Liberal's body.
This is a preview of an article I wrote on examiner.com regarding what it means to be a conservative.
I am a conservative trapped in a liberals body. I want everything I want for free. And I want only the best. And, to be fair, I want everyone else to have everything they want for free too. In short, I want money for nothing. Here in lies the problem...
In any economic system where the price of something desirable is free, there is unlimited demand. And, unless you live on fantasy island, No country in the world has the ability to produce an unlimited supply of what everyone desires for free... Worse, if everyone can get whatever they want for free, who is going to work to produce the unlimited supply necessary. Why do I say that? Because if everyone can get everything they want for free, who wants to work?
Clearly, in a world of limited resources and limited supply, there needs to be a means of RATIONING the supply. In the "Everyone gets Everything Free" model, their will be no supply because no one will want to work because they get everything for free.
But for the sake of argument, if somehow there is a supply of something desirable, it must be rationed, Who gets to decide who gets what in that scenario? Survival of the fittest? I hope not.

Life sucks when you finally figure it all out, not only for the depressing reality that all you believed in was a lie, but by that age you no longer run on hormones and everything starts to hurt. I guess that's why we don't live forever and our physical strength is greatest when we're young and naive.
Don't get too caught up in labels, i.e; Conservative vs Liberal, Democrat vs Republican. Anyone declaring staunch inclusion to any such group loses the ability to make their own choices on issues.
That leaves my friends calling me The Political Enigma. I'm fine with that, as long as they can't say I'm full of shyte.
