i see an invisible line

i see a long invisible line. i can't see what comes after it.

we're all standing - the whole world is standing in one single line.

in it, we stand and wait. we cannot walk away or switch places with someone. each one of us is

assigned a temporary spot and we can't do anything to change it.

closer to the end or beginning of the line stood a 9 year old girl, it was her turn and now she's gone.

standing behind her was an older man, he went  too.

then came an old lady's turn, she was very sick and couldn't stand anymore.

the line gets shorter each day, but i can't seem to see where i stand. i doubt i'll ever be able to. maybe i was only meant to discover that invisible line.

like everybody else, i can only wait for my turn to come.

i can't move, can't leave, and can't stop the line from getting any shorter.

but i refuse to just stand there and wait.

to all those who have had their turn - rest in peace.

for those waiting - don't just stand there.

(dedicated to the ones i know who have had their turn - may they all rest in peace).
