Translated by Tsering Palzor

Sonam Jingme member Tibetan Community now residing in Mussoorie was out to support his brethren in full voice speaking exclusively to Garhwal post said that He was trained in various weapons by CIA American intelligence agency to fight against Chines aggression in 1950.Sonam giving the detailed account of last 50 years and the whole journey to India said that he was 12 or 13 years old then and as the Chinese occupied Tibet immediately he joined in The Tibetan Resistance army which fought a guerill style war with the agressors. He went  fro training of weapons at a camp which was run by CIA agents, there he learned the art of fighting and use of Guns. After that he joined the Tibetan Resistance Army and Killed many Chinese in the process. As the chines atrocities grew the refugees started trickling in through Nepal and other vantage points.

His Holiness Dali Lama left for India in 1959 with few Tibetans as the Chinese had planned to execute him. But his battalion stayed behind to fight and resist he Chinese forces. The condition in Tibet became worse as te mass genocide followed and his battalion was not left with any food or clothes. Some of his mates died resisting Chinese. It was then he also decided to move to India and fight the Chinese after regrouping.

He was just a week away from India but as they had to fight he arrived in India after one month of His Holiness Dalai Lamas arrival in India. He was in Army Battalion in Hoga which is near the border to India.

After coming to India he was brought by Indian Govt to Mussoorie where he finally settled. Since that day he is continuously participating in the protest rally.Sonam view of violent approach have changed and he believes that he best way fro the Tibetans is through Non Violence approach or as Dalai Lama calls Middle path.Sonam Believes that Dalai Lamas path has gained he worldwide support and sympathy for Tibetan cause and will end if they took to violent means. He believes that the Gun is not answer to the Tibetan freedom movement the referring to the Tibetan   youth he was of the view that they should not loose hope as he firmly believed that Tibet will be free during His Holiness Dalai Lamas tenure.Sonam craves for Tibet and has a wish to visit all the religious place3s in Tibet but cannot at present due to conditions prevailing here.

Sonam Jigme is survived with three children two working in Mussoorie THF and other at Rajpur. His advice to his children is keep working for the cause of Tibet as one day it will be free.
