I woke up thinking I was already dead. I lay in my bed
exploring the silence that followed the explosion. I wondered if
someone had bombed my high rise."That was loud, really loud," I
explained to myself. Maybe a strata member had gotten so frustrated by
the poor state of the management that they'd gone postal. I heard
sirens and still, half asleep, and only slowly becoming convinced I
still existed in this world, I heard them stop nearby. I felt myself
trembling and realized I was definitely alive. That meant I had to get
up. Out of bed.
