Exelon Corp Said It Plans To Invest $5 Billion In Clean Energy Over Next 5 Years

With transmission losses as high as 35 percent and over-ambitious capacity addition targets, India is in need ot the latest power transmission and distribution technologies so that losses, theft and efficiency of power usage could be improved.

IBM, one of the world’s leading IT companies and smart grid solutions leaders is planning to offer its services to Indian utilities over the next few years. IBM’s General Manager of Global Energy and Utilities told an Indian business daily that his company sees tremendous potential for growth in the Indian market as it expands to provide electricity to more consumers.

IBM has also tied up with two of India's leading engineering institutes to enhance research of efficient power systems.
