Iceland's President, Ólafur Ragnar Grímsson, has just made public that he is referring the new Icesave  bill to a national referendum.

This Icesave bill, is an account that one of the crashed banks in Iceland couldnt pay up to its customers in England and Holland.

40,000 voters, about one fifth of the electorate, have formally requested that a referendum be held on the new bill.
