If I need a kidney, now is the time to plant the seed

I hope I don’t need one, but I am down to one kidney. It is healthy and medical news says that it may be possible to take DNA from a kidney, plant it into a pig host, and have it develop into a cloned organ. That possibility is still in the future, but maybe I should have the doc scrape a sample and tuck it away. Then again, the older I get, the less likely I will be able to use a donor kidney because they say they are going to allocate them to the younger patients, which makes sense.

There is a kidney donor panel that will decide. Is that like a death panel?
