Yes! We have no Bananas - 1923 (Mark 7)
The wind is gusting to 50 mph and blowing constantly. It took its toll on a truck that is my direct path to the office. I told them I was coming in today barring snow. I didn’t say anything about bananas.

“05:32 AM EST Friday, February 26, 2010
--------------------

The northbound lanes of I-270 just after the Capital Beltway were closed early Friday morning after a tractor-trailer truck full over bananas overturned, authorities said. The accident occurred shortly before 5 a.m.

Cleanup crews were working to clear the debris and reopen the road as soon as possible. The southbound lanes of I-270 were not affected. Motorists traveling west on the Beltway and wishing to head north on I-270 were advised to exit the Beltway on Wisconsin Avenue/Rockville Pike and then cut over to I-270 on Tuckerman Lane.”

Thirty Thousand Pounds of Bananas
by Harry Chapin

It was just after dark when the truck started down
the hill that leads into Scranton Pennsylvania.
Carrying thirty thousand pounds of bananas.

"A woman walks into her room where her child lies sleeping,
and when she sees his eyes are closed,
she sits there, silently weeping,
and though she lives in Scranton, Pennsylvania
She never ever eats ... Bananas
Not one of thirty thousand pounds .... of bananas"
