IKEA, Sweden's Success story is opening another store in Japan and soon in China as well! by Uwe Paschen

IKEA is Sweden's success story along with Volvo and Scania.

Even here in Japan IKEA knows great success and is highly popular even though they do not sale any thing even remotely Japanese, other than chop sticks that is!

IKEA is now opening yet another mega store in Saito, 10 minutes from Soka Shi and about the same from Tokyo. There are all ready two IKEA in Tokyo, yet the demand is growing and so is it' s popularity. IKEA has been expending around the World in the same fashion than McDonalds does, however IKEA does not sale Hamburgers but furniture and accessory at low prises and still of good quality. Easy to assemble and full proof as well with a 90 return option and 25 year guaranty it has remained untouchable by other competitors. Further the quality is in general good and the stiles are from Country to modern, something for every one.

IKEA is also a shopping experience of sorts, with every thing from cutlery to the Bed room even play grounds for the Children and restaurants with imports from Swedish-Laxto Swedish bread seem to be a success as well even here in Japan to my surprise!

Soon IKEA will open in China as well and probably be as successful as it is all over Europe, America, Australia and now Asia. It is a fascinating concept and I personally like the fact that I can still find parts and extensions to furniture's I both some 20 years ago even here in Japan!

What did surprise me tough is the fact that IKEA's Manager here is a Swede, speaking perfect English, German and of course Swedish, yet rather little Japanese if any Japanese!
