NP Rank:
Illegal immigrant criminal and Homeland Security Criminal
Systemic Failure
Illegal immigrants that are in the USA and who commit crimes are a problem and a symptom. The fact that they are here illegally is problem #1. The fact that they commit a crime is problem #2. That the Homeland Security System failed and allowed this to happen is an overriding problem. The fact that the nation’s immigration laws are not enforced is a problem that goes all the way to President Obama and his Homeland Security Director.
Congress and the Judicial System are not immune either. All branches of government are failing the citizens of the USA when immigration laws are not enforced.
“Push in Virginia to Follow Arizona's Lead on Anti-Immigration Law After Nun's Death
Published August 08, 2010
WASHINGTON -- In Arizona, the shooting death of a rancher blew the lid off simmering anger over border security and helped solidify support for a tough new immigration law. A similar eruption threatens in Virginia following the death of a Catholic nun in a car accident involving a man in the country illegally and accused of drunken driving.
The Benedictine Sisters of Virginia tried to discourage using the death of Sister Denise Mosier as a "forum of the illegal immigration agenda" and pleaded for a focus on "Christ's command to forgive."
"The sisters' mission is peace and love," said Corey Stewart, chairman of Prince William County's Board of Supervisors. "My mission is law enforcement and the protection of public safety."
Prince William County, about 25 miles southwest of Washington, D.C., stepped up its immigration enforcement in 2007 amid explosive growth of its Hispanic and immigrant populations. Under Stewart's leadership, the county implemented a local policy requiring police to determine the immigration status of all people arrested on suspicion of violating state or local laws.”

Immigiration problem speaks of failures of administration, its various organs.Having said that we must remeber the rules of the game called politics. The major difference between game of politics and other games can be summed up in these words:In politics the more foul one plays ,the more chances one stands to win.
Immigiration issue would be kept boiling because it may benefit one of the contender in next elections.Accusations and counter accusations will confound the confusion. There are enough scapegoats, blame can be laid at their doors.Average American citizens will continue to suffer to the utter delight of the power-that-be.

I think that it takes a lot to get Americans motivated to rebel against government. We have seen it in the past and rebellion makes a difference in spurts over the long run. Stand by for a rebellion in November.

No one should ever be surprised by this. Its nigh upon impossible to enforce the boundaries of an abstract composition. The effort mirrors the inherent failure of the concept.

"abstract composition"
I think that I get that. Boundaries are arbitrary aren't they?

God gave us earth, not boundries, said it is.Boundries are outlandish, not abstract and that is why one can not enter the 'the other's boundry'without completion of certain formalities.Boundaries are against the law of nature, have divided us into'theirs and ours','us and them', dealt severest blow to humanity.Concept has not failed;defiance is not failure.I,too, pondered over the matter and thought that why all illegal immigirants don't say loudly that no longer we are Hispanics,Asians and Africans. We are subjects of US empire.Emperor treats all subjects equally.Or let there be debate about illegal immigiration and illegal occupation.

All people are subjects of an empire. The reason people want into the USA is because it is the best one in the world. It ensures the highest degree of individual freedom under the rules of law.
Protecting the rule of law is essential to orderliness in a crowded world.
So long as there is such disparity between democratic and free societies and dictatorships and other forms of government that fail to uphold freedom, there will be boundaries.
While you often criticize the imperialist nature of the USA, criticism for which I agree is deserved, the "evils" for which we are responsible are far less than the evils against which we fight.
The US government is governed by "We the People." Yes, it is corrupted by big money and big business, but even then, the system of voters serves to mitigate this.

Kuwait and Iraq none had democracy but were divided by boundaries. The statement that USA is best in the world is a myth. You may disagree with me,but I can not with Howard Zinn on what he said,of course about the best in the world in your esteemed opinion, which I respect while disagreeing with it :".....It is also a commentary on how history itself is"massacred"by the omission of important, often embarrasing episodes-that is ,embarrasing to those who insist that the nation's record must be kept clean, that the myth of American exceptionalism must be retained, that we are different and better than other nations"-The Massacres of History.

I always applaud the comment -- but, give one example of where you would rather live than the USA.

YJ.Honestly and frankly USA.But I won't change my opinions about US establishment.I am living in India but I hate Indian establishment as much as I hate American one.
at 13:25 on August 9th, 2010
That's honest. We are in pursuit of perfection. There are aspects of Indian discipline that I appreciate that comes from experience in managing large scale problems and societal needs. I have worked with a colleague from India that has amazing characteristics that I attribute in part to his experience and roots in India.
I also believe that there is much potential synergy to be developed between the USA and India. Collaboration between the two countries holds greater potential than collaboration between many other possibilities and should produce a more competitive outcome in the global market.
I don't believe our leaders are addressing this.

Even the 911 terrorists whooped it up with hookers and booze in the USA, now how F*cked up is that?

I remember that.

PS. I would rather have this be an issue than live in some shit hole. Anyone who claims contra is lying. I would welcome such a burden as people wanting to come where I live. It means we as a nation are still doing something right and worthy of continuation.
