I was glued to the TV screen all morning, trying to soak in the beautiful energy. Somehow I knew I had to take as many pictures as possible just so I could renew this historic event. I still feel like it's all a little unreal and am pinching myself. I know for sure that this is excitement, not just for a new president and not just to get the power back where it belongs...but because this makes our country greater than it's been in decades. I'm so proud to see it all happen.
Here is what I wrote on my blog just after his speech ended:
I sit here in awe listening to President Obama's Inauguration speech. He is saying everything we need to hear to move forward, to pick ourselves up and have faith that starting again will be fruitful. It has been many years since I felt that way. He reminds us that we are great. That we must hold hands and go forward, not alone, but in concert, with sure confidence that there is something better waiting, if only we will walk that necessary path.
