NP Rank:
The Incredible Smearing of Sarah Palin
The world of left-wing crazies has gone completely mad since Sarah Palin was named by John McCain to become his vice presidential candidate. This move by McCain must have hit a deep chord given the reaction. Alan Colmes of Hannity and Colmes, on his website, put up the idea that Governor Palin had actually caused the Downes Syndrome malady suffered by Palin’s young son through her own negligence. Colmes later took down this slander, but not before several websites had fortunately taken screen shots of the original smear. That website entry can be seen here.
But these jackals can not get things straight. On other left-wing sites, a different story is circulating based on an examination of pictures of Palin and her teenage daughter. Based on these photographs, which show nothing, the theory has been advanced as fact that the Downes Syndrome child is actually Palin’s grandson, and the 16 year old is the real mother.
Here is a discussion of this in Townhall.com
""Sarah Palin is NOT the Mother" is the title of this DailyKos blog that accuses Bristol, a completely fit-looking adolescent teen, of having a "baby bump" in a photo they allege was taken March 9th of this year.
"Sarah, I'm calling you a liar" wrote blogger ArcXIX. "And not even a good one. Trig Paxson Van Palin is not your son. He is your grandson. The sooner you come forward with this revelation to the public, the better. " Photos of Bristol with detailed commentary about her abdomen are contained in the post.
Not only is the DailyKos disgustingly inspecting Bristol's midriff with all the fervor of LA paparazzi examining J-Lo's or Jennifer Aniston's washboard stomachs for evidence of a "bump," the DailyKos is wrong on when the photo was taken. It was taken, and published, by the Anchorage Daily News in 2006. Baby Trig, a child with Down's Syndrome, was born on April 18, 2008. That's a long time for a teen girl to be carrying a "bump" which looks nothing more than the curve of a tight sweater.
Shortly after Palin was announced as McCain's VP, bloggers at the Kos started ginning up the rumor Palin faked her pregnancy, allegedly to cover for an illegitimate grandchild, because she looked so fit and trim in photos taken a few months before giving birth.
This is only the latest in outrageous attacks against Palin as a mother. Fox News anchor Alan Colmes, of Hannity & Colmes, titled a recent post on his blog Liberaland "Did Palin Take Proper PreNatal Care?" In it, he wondered if she somehow was at fault for having a disabled child. Colmes took down the post after being attacked by the blog Wizbang and later reposted a screenshot of the blog to prove he "wasn't running away from what I posted."" Townhall.com
On CNN, meanwhile, CNN anchor, John Roberts, actually happened to mention that Governor Palin "would not give adequate care and attention to Trig if she became vice president".
Now, one can trace smear campaigns like this back to the "Daisy" ad run by President Johnson against Barry Goldwater, and the smear methodology was fine-tuned during the Bork and Thomas confirmation hearings to include slanders and smears of one’s personal life. But why did the selection of Sarah Palin put the Democrats right down in the gutter so fast and in such fury? The answer is clear. It is the reason for 8 years of "Selected, not Elected". It is because they (the Democrats) are so smart and so self-righteous that they are obviously ‘entitled’ to the presidency.
They are right to be worried. The selection of Sarah Palin has so energized me, that I immediately took out my credit card and made another contribution to McCain2008. I had previously done this twice before and had not planned another contribution.
This excerpt tells it all:
Sarah Baxter The Sunday Times August 31, 2008 (Excerpt)
"When Sarah Palin stepped into the spotlight as John McCain’s running mate in Dayton, Ohio, and promised that women could "shatter that glass ceiling once and for all", it was an electrifying moment in a presidential election that had already produced its share of upsets and surprises.
History was on the march again the morning after Barack Obama became the first African-American to accept his party’s White House nomination. After the fireworks, the 80,000-strong crowd who had cheered Obama to the skies at the Mile High stadium in Denver woke up with a hangover.
"We may be seeing the first woman president. As a Democrat, I am reeling," said Camille Paglia, the cultural critic. "That was the best political speech I have ever seen delivered by an American woman politician. Palin is as tough as nails.""

.On a left-wing forum that I often visit and sometimes post, the lefties' response to the Swift-Boating of their slanders was to say, "well, you right-wingers deserve this for all your slanders". This is what they are reduced to

joellerose, I like this story. It's good stuff. I'm providing a link to it on my post with photos of the very pregnant Sarah Palin.
If nothing else in the world proves the values of the Obama campaign, this does. His supporters have been hyping this story endlessly. I don't hear him speaking against such slime, do you? Nope.

The shame of it is she already is a proven liar and any "smear" tactics are unnecessary.
In her introductory speech to the American people she lied about the "Bridge to Nowhere".
This, of course, does not include investigations for nepotism and abuse of power.

Discusting isn't it! Alan Colmes, is sooooooooooooooo far left his brain consists of two left lobes, both without a frontal lobe for thinking about what he say's! He's a "shoot-from-the-hip" specialist of the far left, and rarely hits the barn doors he shoots! A classic jerk-off!

Down Syndrome has nothing to do with pre-natal care as it is an extra chromosome that causes it. Colmes knows this--or should--but apparently chose to go down that nasty road.

Alan Colmes -- the dumber half of Hannity and Colmes -- after making his comments shows himself for the coward he is by taking down his remarks from his website and not standing behind his "cheap hip-shot."

joellerose, I like this story. It's good stuff. I have heard the Kos and HuffingtonPost. The new baby is her daughters LOL. She loved the Bridge to nowhere. She fired her brother in law. They are looking for the scandel photos of her in a bikini. Here is my favorite, "shouldn't she be home taking care of her children" from a LIBERAL woman. Why is it that its ok for liberals to work and leave thier kids with a Nanny. But is you are CONSERVATIVE, "should't you be home taking care of your special needs child" LOL What a Joke.
Thanks for the conservative voice

Any opinion that starts by quoting Hannity or Colmes as newsworthy sources can't be very good. It's called entertainment, people.

I guess, in some minds, this justifies the smears.

oh, now the daughter is supposedly 5 months pregnant? This story just gets more weird by the tri-mester lol
5 months, that would coincide with the pics that I saw that show her daughter IS pregnant if my calculations are correct.
Either way, this is not a good thing for Republican Moral values.
Bristol Palin "fornicated" Obama into the presidency!
How would you like to be THAT baby and hear from your mom in your later years, that you kept gramma from being Vice President and President? Talk about a guilt trip for a child lol
