Bombs Explode in Pune, India: 1 Injured

Five explosions hit Pune, India on August 1, during the evening rush hour. One person was injured in the blasts, which were described as "low-intensity"... the person who detonated the bombs, including one he was carrying in a plastic shopping bag.

The explosions went off along a 500-meter stretch of Jangali Maharaj Road near the Balgandharva auditorium.

Sushil Kumar Shinde, who took over today as Home Minister, was scheduled to be in the city tonight to preside over a prize-giving ceremony. He cancelled his plans at the last minute.
