India gets "Futuristic" Hawkeye E-2D aircraft from U.S.

After Indian Navy rejected the offer of Hawkeye 2C , the US defence industry is offering their advanced air surveillance aircraft Hawkeye E-2D to India.
The US government cleared yet another high technology system for India, the ‘‘futuristic’’ shipboard Hawkeye E-2D aircraftfor Airborne Early Warning (AEW) and battle management.
The clearance has been described by diplomatic sources as a fallout of the ‘‘successful’’ visit of secretary of state Hillary Clinton and the signing of the End User Monitoring Agreement (EUMA) of military equipment being supplied or sold by the US to India. Like the Boeing P 8I Maritime Multi-mission Aircraft (MMA), of which the Indian Navy has already ordered eight aircraft, the Hawkeye E-2D is the very latest and is yet to be delivered to the US Navy.

E-2D is a wonderful piece of equipment.
Wonder what is going on in the international relations scene?
When Chobmam Armour 'Main Battle Tanks' were first produced by the UK, the first non Western country to get them was Iran (Persia). This, the West felt was important because the Shah of Iran was known to them as the 'Policeman of the Middle East'.
Why does US have this sudden love for India? Are they 'pissed' with Pakistan or something like that?

No that they got pissed off or thing. It is just a 'fair game' policy. Like another WWE match, both the 'fighters' should have some strong as well as weak points. They are simply matching Pakistan's Chinese given capabilities to India's by providing such toys.
Otherwise the game would be boring.
But yeah, it is a wonderful toy..!

How the political scenario has changed. I can remember Pakistan as one of USA's blue eyed boys and India was getting all the military know how the Russians had. :-)
