Former Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu Ms. J. Jayalalithaa has called for an immediate ceasefire of the current war on Tamils in Sri Lanka.

The current Indian Congress Government has been providing extended help to the war in military, and weapons including chemical weapons to the Sri Lankan Government.

The Sri Lankan army and the Indian army have jointly deployed a chemical weapons attack on Tamils civilians within last couple days. The attack has killed over 2000 Tamils civilians in the war zone.

"I strongly insist that an immediate ceasefire is the only way to save the Tamil civilians in the safety zone," said AIDMK General Secretary and former Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu Ms. J. Jayalalithaa in a signed statement in Tamil, issued on Wednesday. Ms. Jayalalithaa in the strongly worded statement blamed Chief Minister M. Karunanidhi and the Central Government of India for the current plight of Tamil civilians. "People of Tamil Nadu will wash their hands off of such elements whose hands are jointly at work causing misery to the Tamils in the island of Sri Lanka," she said.
