India maligning Pakistan to conceal its own intelligence failure

Irrespective of the fact that who carried out the recent Mumbai attacks, the facts coming to fore with the passage of time show that the Indian government is maligning and threatening Pakistan just to hoodwink its masses as well as the world community.
A latest report has revealed that the terrorists succeeded only because of sheer failure of the intelligence outfits that could not act to foil the attacks despite having vital and critical intelligence five days before Mumbai attacks.

India government had received the vital and critical intelligence five days before Mumbai attacks which had been simply ignored.

According to Indian web site Tehelka.com, sources in the highest quarters in New Delhi have told that the mobile numbers that were used by the Mumbai terrorists were available with the Intelligence Bureau at least five days before 26/11.

Highly placed sources shared the contents of a ‘Secret’ note that contains 35 mobile numbers. Of the 35 SIM cards, 32 had been purchased from Kolkata and three from Delhi and sent to Pakistan-administered Kashmir by mid- November.

Highly placed sources reveal that crucial and stunning piece of information was received by the Intelligence Bureau (IB) on 21 November, at least five full days before Ajmal Amir Kasav, the lone surviving terrorist and his nine accomplices got off the inflatable dinghy at Mumbai’s Badhwar Park on the evening of 26/11.

The Prime Minister and Home Minister are aware that for all the five crucial days that the numbers were available, they were not being monitored. The lapse is all the more critical because at least three of the 32 numbers contained in the Secret note, were the exact same cell numbers that the Mumbai terrorists used to keep in touch with their handlers in Pakistan.

It is well possible that the terrorists only activated their mobile numbers after reaching Mumbai but that does not excuse the fact that the numbers were not put under surveillance despite the knowledge that they had been sent to terrorists.

On 18 September, for example, the Research and Analysis Wing (RAW) had intercepted a satellite phone conversation, which clearly indicated that a hotel at the Gateway of India in Mumbai would be targeted.

Crucially, the intercept also revealed that the sea route would be used to launch this operation. Again, on 24 September, RAW recorded another conversation. This time, the hotels were mentioned by name and they included the Taj, the Sea Rock Hotel and the Marriott hotel. If these inputs were being analysed, it would have become clearer that hotels in Mumbai would be attacked and that the sea route would be used.

Security breached ease with which Mumbai came under attack brought back the question of internal security.

Thanks Hussain for this post. It is true that irrespective of the nationality of Mumbai attackers, one thing is clear that Indians have failed to defend such a barbaric act. Good Post.

I hope you will get answers of your questions with the passage of time. However, one thing is clear that whatever has been stated or reported about the Mumbai attacks is not all true. Perhaps, you would not believe that even if I am an Indian, I would never agree with the version of the story being told by the Indian authorities because there many loopholes in it.

Nobody cares about what governments say about the issue.They failed to protect the citizen from the terrorist attack.Human memory is very fragile , they soon forgets , and move on.

My solute to the Indian posts.. may I dare call you friends? forgive me if you find it offensive but I share the grief, helplessness and anguish so I can see where any peace loving Indian is coming from when he or she sees Pakistani hand in it. Lets face it. Since our creation we didn’t have the best of relations.

I think I would blame both governments to let things go out of control so much that these barbarians in the name of religion or whatever are carrying out these acts with virtual impunity on continued bases.

Honestly I am among those Pakistanis who would want to have those people shot in public if their hand is proven in the Mumbai terrorism be it they are part of establishment or rag tag offshoot of Al Qaeda. Talking of Al Qaeda terrorists, they must be laughing their heads off due to the current situation and praying to their god (Satan) that a war breaks out between India and Pakistan and hundreds or thousand people loose their lives.

I would like to share a translated saying here “in Gods world, there maybe a delay in justice but there is never injustice”. These terrorists who maybe so called Muslim fanatics or Hindu extremists, part of agencies or part of a private cult, will face justice Amen
I am beginning to believe that there is an increase in the number of people in Pakistan and India who want to live in peace and mutual respect and harmony. Keeping our individual ideologies and diversities we will come closer .. Amen

Thanks Amaad for your post, I do agree that the comman man on the street does not share the enimocity that the media makes it out to be!! Inshaallah the people to people contact will help in taking the relationships forward... I have heard stories how the Indians that went to watch the cricket matches were treated by free food, free taxi rides and love and affection showered on them by the masses.
