truth about Sri lanka war & Tamil Tiger separatis

On a day when the LTTE Spokesperson Nadesan made it clear that LTTE chief Prabhakaran is still in Sri Lanka and is fighting the government, the editor of a popular Tamil magazine Thuglak, Cho Ramaswamy sparked a political point after telling CNN-IBN that India should come out in support of Sri Lanka against the LTTE.

Yes it is true that for the first time Tamils in India have spoken against LTTE but same time they don't want innocent Tamil to be persecuted by Sri Lankan government. India will support any Sri Lankan move to end this bloody war and would like to have a peaceful, meaning and equitable solution to end this crisis.

CNN-IBN: The DMK says it is asking for the ceasefire to help the lakhs of civilians trapped in those forests around Mulathivu right now. Is that not justified?

Cho Ramaswamy: They are not only wrong but there is also an element of dishonesty in what they say because it is not the Sri lankan military that is targeting the civilians there but it is the Tigers who are keeping the civilians as a shield. They are not allowing them to evacuate the plains and go to safer territories though the Sri Lankan military has been asking them to evacuate and marking safe territories for them. the Tigers are not allowing them to go because they are their shields.

If there is a Chadhurvedhi mangalams, Agraharams in northern parts Srilanka cho's comment will be in different view.

Tiana

Cho Ramasamy is in the conflict zone isn't he... To make comments like that. We don't know the truth because the media is not allowed in. I personally think both forces are hiding truth as usual.

4
Hiranya Malwatta

hehe maybe Cho Ramaswamy is "paid" by the GoSL to speak against the LTTE.

Oh, I forgot about Prime Minister Manmohan Singh. He should be on GoSL payroll too.

3
Hiranya Malwatta

CNN-IBN: Should India do something positive in supporting the Sri Lanka government in their fight against the LTTE?

Cho Ramaswamy: Yes. We should support them though of course we cannot openly supply them with weaponry and all. We must everything that is possible within certain limits to help the Sri Lankan army to finish off the LTTE. The LTTE will survive as a pure and simple terrorist group but they must lose their military strength. It is in India's interest also and it is in the interest of the Sri Lankan Tamils also.

Cho is a Traitors and he is getting money from Sri Lankan Government. He is in India and he is not in Tamil Eelam.

4
Hiranya Malwatta

hehe how did I predict this comment from you, even before you commented?

hehe maybe Cho Ramaswamy is "paid" by the GoSL to speak against the LTTE.

Oh, I forgot about Prime Minister Manmohan Singh. He should be on GoSL payroll too.

Hehehehe...

Where are those golden words "genocide" and "terrorist government" ?

Cho is a traitor ???  In what way? He is an Indian citizen who spoke against a bloodthirsty terrorist organization - operating from a neighboring country against the will of the majority of the citizens of that country -that brutally killed a promising young Indian ex-prime minister along with 18 other Indian citizens. This act of  courage makes him a patriot, my comrade.

Agent.

Are you in the fast shrinking Tamil Eelam to make such comments? I'm sure you are an instigating LTTE supporter living comfortably in some foreign land, trying to say something in favor of the LTTE to ease your guilt.

Tiana

My point is don't make accusations at one side and not the other when u don't know facts. From what I hear, people don't want to go into the hands of the army where they don't know what awaits them. Sarcasm won't get anyone anywhere.

3
Hiranya Malwatta

It's time to start thinking why the world leaders want LTTE eliminated. Time to understand why they PREFER not to believe what LTTE says.

0
Elumalai

It is time not to beleive what GoSL says

0
Tiana

eliminate the ltte, dont try to eliminate the tamil race, because you will not succeed

3
Hiranya Malwatta

agreed.

Isuru Thilakaratne

What are you talking about... I swear, everytime you mention that it sounds like 'Don't put chicken into the fruit salad...' Do you get what I'm trying to say?

0
Tiana

Don't try the cocky route with me. People know damn well what I am talking about.

2
Hiranya Malwatta

Why am I reminded of William Baptist?

1
Tiana

He thinks he can intimidate me, but he is the one who is starting to sound, well, too self important and a real know it all. People shouldn't dismiss other people's point of view, instead just agree to disagree.

2
Isuru Thilakaratne

I'm sincerely sorry I made you feel that way Tiana. I really am not trying to intimidate anyone in this forum, nor do I think I am a real know it all. I have my educated opinions and well, sometimes may come out pretty strong.

I'll tell you what it is... when my closest friends and associates are Tamils, for whom I have the greatest of respect for and those that I dearly love, it just sounds absolutely absurd that a few people claim that people like myself (Sinhalese, and I'm not being racist when I bring in the word 'people' here) are trying to get rid of/carry out a genocide against people like them/you. No Sinhalese I know want the 'Tamils' killed or out of Sri Lanka. It is the LTTE that I have issues with and to me they are two different things. Tiana, it is truly impossible for an ethnicity1 to carry out a genocide against ethnicity2 when it is not in the interest of the majority (and I mean 99%) of the people of ethnicity1, and more importantly, to hide something like that from its own enthnicity. I for one, won't stand for it if that was what was going on. So I hope I made it clear how much it aggrevates me when someone claims that I/our people are doing something against them/their people... something that I would 'never' even dare to think of.

So basically, this is how I feel: Its like me repeatedly claiming in front of your face that the Tamils are carrying out a genocide against the Sinhalese... I know its not true, and you know its not true. But if I were to constantly bring it up everywhere in this forum, I'm sure its gonna get your mouth running a bit louder against mine.

Now, before you bring it up, I did read your article about how 'TamilNet' and the LTTE (for those that STILL think they are two different things) claims it was the Sri Lankan army's shelling that killed the 16 innocent civilians and that they did not shoot them. I will express my opinions and I will put forward what I know in it, as for now I've turned into a bit of an insomniac so I'm gonna hit the sack.

2
Hiranya Malwatta

@ Isuru >

I may add that Tamilnet's story about "monday shelling" has pictures that were taken in January.

those who believe in Tamilnet stories - ever heard of EXIF data? download the photos and check properties.

Every story in Tamilnet has pictures taken at some other time, some recent stories even had pictures from 2004.

Isn't the LTTE getting eliminated as we speak? Don't worry about the Tamil people. They have got on very well with the Sinhalese and other races in Sri Lanka.

Tamils are a good race. However, a malignant cancer by the name of LTTE got into this system. Talk to them about your concern because they have killed more Tamils than anybody else.

In Colombo, there are many many more Tamils than Sinhalese. They live in harmony and cooperation. If there is a requirement for anybody to eliminate Tamils why do it in the North, when there are a couple of millions in Colombo and ite suburbs. Wonder why that is not hapenning? Perhaps, GOSL is worried about the protests by the LTTE supporters and investors in eelam through donations., huh!

We live with Tamils without a problem and will continue to do so. But, as for the scum of the earth - Prabhakaran and his slum dogs, it is just a matter of time. LOL!

3
lalith

Tiana.

The Tamil race and the LTTE are two diiferent things. I don't think there is a problem with the Tamils. The problem is with the LTTE which is led by a limping psychopathic leader. also which is on its last legs.

Don't try to drag the Tamils into the LTTE story just to generate sympathy.

2
Tamiya

As far as the Sri Lankan Government is concerned there is no distinction between Tamils and LTTE.

If the LTTE have been living among the jungles of Sinhalese area, would the Sri Lankan Government be mercilessly bombing, shelling, and starving Sinhalese too?

oh wait... on the other hand I take that back, the Sri Lankan Government just might do the same to Sinhalese too. I have seen how far they can go in suppressing JVP in the late 80s. Burning young Sinhalese alive in tires and leaving Sinhalese people bodies slaughtered in pieces.

Well

We will kill everybody who opposes Tamil eelam as well as LTTE.

At the same time who is responsible for Lasantha's killing or firing of Yalpanam library. We can also give thousands of incidents. Very soon we will attack China. You (GoSL, SLA) are nothing to us

Wow lots of heating going on and good post Hiranya, This is sad that LTTE can do what ever they want and that will be justified and  Government will get the blame for all. Even the countries making statements to both sides as it is like both sides violating these theories. They still cant pin point LTTE to stop violance.  So it can clearly shows who got money & paid for speak for them.
