latest update: The toll is At least 177 people have been killed and more than 250 injured in a stampede at Chamunda Devi temple in Jodhpur, feared to go up. There are reports that there is acute shortage of oxygen in hospitals. Police has confirmed 78 deaths and said the toll is feared to increase. More than 30 bodies were brought to Mahatma Gandhi Hospital and at least 10 to Mathura Das Hospital hereSoni

Thanks very much Amit. It seems one of the worst tragedies of its kind in India. People are dying of terrorist attack and also at temples. Today is the beginning of the one of most pious festivals of Hindus Navratra and there were thousands of devotees gathered at that ancient temple. Only few weeks back similar kind of stampede took place in another temple. Officials seems not to learn from these events.
