India Test Fires Prithvi-II Ballistic missile this morning.

India successfully testfired the indigenously designed and developed surface-to-surface ballistic missile this morning. This was a "user trial" by Indian Army.
Balasore (Orissa), Apr 15 (PTI) India today successfully test fired a version of nuclear-capable 'Prithvi-II' ballistic missile with a range of 350 kms from the Integrated Test Range (ITR) at Chandipur, about 15 km from here off the Orissa coast.
The indigenously developed surface-to-surface ballistic missile was test fired at around 1020 hours from a mobile launcher as part of a user trial by the army, defence sources said.
The entire trajectory of the trial was tracked down by a battery of sophisticated radars and electro-optic telemetry stations positioned in different locations for post-launch analysis, they said.
A naval ship had been anchored near the impact point in the Bay of Bengal and a long-range tracking radar (LRTR) as well as a multi-function tracking radar (MFTR) had been deployed to track the missile's trajectory.

Sometime back, India was still a closed echonomy and pseudo socialism was prevailing, the common man used to get confused by the state run space agency ISRO and the defence agency DRDO.
Many times the space "rockets" fired by ISRO used to crash on to someone's head, but the missiles fired by DRDO never used to see ground again.
After all the common men were working in those organizations, and would have confused a missile with a space rockets. One "brain" even went to the extend suggesting that why dont we interchange the of missiles and rockets..!!
You know, Indians are very practical people.

For clarity, DRDO is the Defense Research and Development Organization is the military hardware tinker bells. Their success stories include.
• Failure of Arjun Main battle tank after a development of 25 years
• Technical problem with the INSAS rifles developed by them etc..
But as for space program, we can give allowance to any country. ISRO (Indian Space Research Organization) fares better. Still they had their shares. The latest one being

I was wondering when Pakistan is going to test their "counter" missile. It must and will happen soon. Mostly in this week itself.
The missile called "Ghori." LOL..... :-))
For the uninitiated, Pakistanis think that this Indian missile Prithvi was named after the last powerful Hindu king who ruled Delhi - hence a symbol of Hinduism...!!. His name was Prithviraj Chauhan.
Then a Muslim King from present Afghanistan came and fought with Prithviraj. That Muslim king's name was Muhammed Ghori. Ghori , after many wars defeated and captured Prithviraj and blinded him. Prithviraj died in captivity in Afghanistan.

So , against a Hindu missile, Pakistan made a Muslim missile ..LOL...
But in reality, then meaning of the Sanskrit word Prithvy is just "Earth"...!

Aakash = Sky . They represent some of the Five elements.
Fortunately for Pakistanis, there were no Hindu kings ruled India with those names.

we will definately have a friendly atomsphere in our life time. no need to loose hope. the post is about Indian missile test I think it is a political statement and set the mood for the elections. I think you or Hussain may post a story of a Pakistani missile response soon. to me these things dont even constitute a story. I am more interested in the defeat of the terrorists.

Due to the military, weapons (including chemical weapons) and guidance the current Indian government has provided off-the-record to the Sri Lankan Army, I would definitely question the morale of India, especially the congress government.
If these assistance were provided knowing to its own citizens and the free world, then at least I would give the current Indian government some credit for being honest to its own citizens and the international community.
I can only see this current stunt as a desperate attempt to sway the opinions at the elections polls to show the congress as a dependable & strong government.
An Indian congress government, and a regional power, that concealing its military efforts at a neighboring country to its own citizens and to the international community is appalling. The Indian army leading the chemical weapons and poisonous gas attack on Tamils civilians in SRi Lanka is inexcusable.

This Tamiya charactor ( I don't know if you built a soft corner to that charactor thinking that it is a female - but I don't care) jumped in and posted some crap about an unrelated thing. Before also he/she used to post sh!t videos and photos in my posts.
So,if you want to have fun and stuff please do that. If you want to run around this site advising people, do that too. But don't come to me without dialogues - especially if you have no idea what coconut is happening here.

I have lived in middle east, Europe and Kenya. I have seen some world and learnt few things. If you think that people of the south in Karnatika are superior intelligence than the Punjabis then I don’t want to get into that argument. I am talking from experience that when emotions are high people loose the sight and talk the way you are talking. Our missile test is just a confirmation of our abilities if not the election stunt by the government.

This is a post about India's latest missile test. I would like to keep it that way or with some related comments and information. But if something comes and post crap here, I will respond the the way I feel fit. Remaining part of your comment does not deserve any response from my side.
