India tests nuclear-capable Prithvi-II missile
Just see the paradox of developing Nation, southern India is submerged in flood water, million people are home less, media is flooded with the stories of shortages of food and medicine but on the other hand India choose to test its Nuclear capable missile Prithivi, god knows to show what? Official statement is on expected lines, these are long drawn plan and we are doing it on schedule.
The Indian military successfully test-fired two short-range nuclear-capable missiles from a site in the east of the country on Monday, a defence source said.
The Prithvi-II ground-to-ground missiles were fired from a test range in Chandipur-on-sea in Orissa state, a source at the Defence Research and Development Organisation said.
The 8.5-metre (28-foot) Prithvi-II missile has a range of 150-350 kilometres (90-220 miles) and can carry a one-tonne conventional or nuclear payload.
The domestically developed and produced weapon was last tested on April 15 this year.

Thanks for this Amitjha, yes a paradox when you think of all the natural disasters around the world and particuarly in India at this point.

We are ruled by fear some natural some manmade. Well the natural calamity is not going to benefit politicians but these threat from foreign land, this show of military prowess definitely helps them to build image as security provider. Although the reality is more people die of natural calamity than the war.
