Indian coast guard arrests 20 Pakistanis suspected terrorists
Gandhi Nagar, Gujarat, Feb 27: Indian Coast Guard has taken into custody 20 Pakistan citizens trying to enter India illegally in the Gujarat coast by three boats. The news gained importance in view of intelligence reports that 29 terrorists had left Pakistan to India, with an intent to disrupt the ongoing world cup cricket matches and create terror.
The 20 Pakistan citizens were traveling by three boats and efforts by the coast guard personnel to stop them failed, forcing them to fire warning shots. They then seized the three boats and had taken them into custody. They were shifted to a special camp and were being interrogated.
Coast Guard has intensified patrolling operations along the coast on receiving information about terrorist plans to disrupt cricket matches and create terror. Indian media has telecast stories that the 20 arrested Pakistanis could be part of the 29 who were sailing to India.
