Sourabhee Debbarma is the first girl Idol in the history of Indian Idol. She wins INR 1 crore (INR 10 mn). She also wins a TATA winger.

This was preceeded by some drama when the picture of winner was brought down from the top and it was not an envelope, but a huge portait. John and Neel did manage to figure out how to uncover the winner... IST 11:17 PM

Sonali gifts her a watch and her parents are called on the stage and now a showreel of her journey from the line to winning.

Just before the winner was announced...

For the last time the two final contestants are performing Soni De Nakhre by Kapil and Sourabhee is singing Shut up and bounce. The sound quality of transmission is really poor.

Torsha is the person to be eliminated, now the final sprint is between Sourabhee and Kapil. So the top 11 got it right. Ultimately Sonali announced the first result of the night.

A few moments back.....

Katrina makes an entry in your Pink dress along with John and Neel, The Stars of New York. The winner should be announced anytime soon. Though Katrina is on the stage, but Sonali with a saree is still the best looking female. Sorry Katrina fans...

For the records John was there for the last Idol final also and he goes on to say that he is lcuky for the person he is paired, this time he was paired with Sourabhee... Humm..

The top 11 are divided between Sourabhee abd Kapil. Anu thinks Torsha. John bats for Sourabhee, Neel bats for Kapil and Karina for Trosha.

Indian Idol Parivar (family) together on the stage singing Kal Rahe Ya Na Rahe Yaad aayenge yeh Pal. Judges, past winners, contestants singing in unison. All dressed in white with white and blue baloons (Idol Colors) spread on the stage. The show has picked up speed and tempo and after the break we will get John, Neel and Katrina hopefully. :-) :-) :-) Of course they are here to promote their upcpming movie New York.

Indian Idol anthem is being unveiled and Javed Akhtar is shaking a leg on the stage. He is joined by all other judges now. Anthem is sung by Alisha, UDIT and Kailash Kher music by Anu, by all standards Sonali is in her elements and is back to her hay days looks. Alisha and Kailash are of the same height!! 

Sonali is having a ball on the stage and has pulled Hussain in, but she is the most beautiful women in the studio tonight!!

Prajdeep and Prasendeep performing, studio audience are still waving. Both thank Idol for giving them name and fame. They are kicked about the fact that they are recognized on the street.

The show is full of performances started with Chang and Meenal performing Jaane Kyon. Ankita Mishra Kismat Konnection - A very bad performance! Prajakta and Parleen another average performance Kasmanu Khain Marjani. Rahul & Priyanka they are good, but too tight edit of the show, so even good stuff is not coming through :-(

Finally Desi Girl - They are killing the song :-( and Chang is looking cartoonish in 3/4th s.

John Abrahim, Neel Nitin Mukesh  and Katrina will announce the last two Idol finalists. In Mumbai no event is complete without celebrities and John and Katrina are the hottest stars right now!!

Dhol Vajda Tumba Vajda Kailash Kher with Kapil the fauji.. well a good song ccan lift up the show. The studio audience are on their feet. Sonali Bindre in her saree is looking as gorgeous as ever. Age is catching up with Alisha though and Anu Malik is getting younger by the minute.

Portrait of Anu Malik is unveiled by Anu himselves and he is called the ultimate fighter and given a pair of gloves by his fellow judges. Looks like an attempt to make him into a larger than life judge. They may be thinking of changing the other judges for Idol 5!!! Who Knows!!

Kailash Kher performs chak de phatte!! The three finalists are joining him one by one to perform. The show is dragging now.. after Anu bashing by the other judges.... for the first time the show is looking real.. :-)

All the formal Idols viz. Monali, Amit Paul Rahul, Prajakta, Abhijit Sawant, Monali Sandeep, Meenal, Ankita, Prashant, Aarleen, Imon all came together on the stage.

Abjitit finally is becoming a movie star and that is being touted as a great achievement. He looked back at his days as he went on to become the first and most famous Indian Idol ever.

Flash back of what kind of torture the judges have to go throught to select the talent. Anu Malik announced that Idol 5 is under way AND

In the counting GIRLS are leading and maybe Indian will get its first Female Idol.

The latest update is the Katrina Kaif is expected to come in for the show and the couting of votes has started.

Mini Mathur, Hussain and Chang are performing a dance number to keep the momento of the program going. Latto - Yaar Aaya, Chandni Chowk to China (Chang is an Indian Chinese :-) ), Singh in King by Hussain. A medley of current numbers from bollywood Movies. I hope they they have sought a performence license from PPL.

After all the song and dance Anu Malik walks away with Mini with Emotional Atyachar playing in the back ground. As per Mini Anu is a great brother and the brother walks away.

All the three finalists are performing together on Race Sansoon Ki to bring in the 8:30 PM the time when their fate is sealed.

Final Comments:

Torsha wants to be an idol to realize her dreams and for her family
Kapil says he got a lot on Idol which he would have got in years
Sourabhee says she has performed and will wait for the results now.

Chang Gong and the voting lines are closed now!!

8:24 PM IST 6 minutes for the voting lines to close:

Hussain Kuwajerwala and Chang are hosting the Grand Finale. In the first three varients none of the girls have won it yet and Alisha is certain that a girl will win it this time. The chances are high as out of three two are girls this time.

Anu Malik is shouting that I am the best and Idol is the best. As per Kailash Kher Indian Idol is a religion.

The top three are coming on stage for a final face down. Sourabhee, Kapil and Torsha are performing to the crowds.

Saurabhee is performing to  Jhoome le Jhoom Zara and rode in to the stage on a bike.
Torsha is performing to Dance pe Chance Maar le. Poor girl will only get 3 minutes till the lines close.

8:00 PM IST

Kailash Kher, Alisha Chinay, Javed Akhtar, Sonali Bendre, Mini Mathur and Anu Malik have entered the stage to decide the grand finale of Indian Idol 4. This is the fourthseason and the first one to be welcomed was Abhijit Sawant the winner of the first Indian Idol.
Chang and Deepali are welcoming the guests.
Sourabhee, Kapil and Torsha’s  parents are coming in to the red carpet and welcomed by the Chang and Deepali.

Voting lines are open till 8:30 PM IST. The Show can be viewed on Sony Entertainment Television in India.

To set the stage on fire the 11 evicted contestants performed to kick off the show.
