Indian student raped and brutally murdered in Australia
Sydney: In a horrifying incident, an Indian girl student was raped and brutally murdered and her body was crumpled in a suitcase and dropped in a canal in Sydney.
On March 11, workers mending a gas pipeline at the Midoush Bank Park found a suitcase being washed away in the nearby canal. The retrieved the suitcase and were shocked to find the body of a girl crumpled in it. Police who were informed identified the girl as Thosha Thakkar (24) an Indian studying in the Sydney College of Business Management (Southern Cross University).. They quickly found that one Daniel Stanley Reginald (19) raped and murdered her and arrested the teenager.
Police said the girl could have been strangled. They believe that she was still alive when she was put into the suit case. She could have died because of asphyxiation, they added. Indian authorities said they were making arrangements to send the body of the girl to her parents in the Gujarat state of India.
Thosha, her murderer and another boy were staying together in an apartment. The killer waited for Thosha to be alone in the house and committed the crime on her.
