Indonesian police hunting down two Malaysian smugglers

Pekanbaru (ANTARA News) - The national police headquarters is currently hunting down two Malaysian nationals who have smuggled around 1,800 tons of goods to Riau province.

Speaking to the press here on Monday, Crime Detective Unit Head of the police headquarters Commissioner General Bambang Hendarso Danuri said the contrabands were already confiscated by the police when three vessels were unloading their cargo at traditional ports of the local people in Siak River some days ago.

In this case, at least six suspects including Alam as the owner of the contrabands were detained, while two Malaysian nationals as the suppliers were still at large.

Identified with their initial SW and SM, the two were the alleged suppliers of the smuggled goods from Klang Port, Johar Baru, Malaysia.

To maximize the chase of two Malaysian smugglers, his side had forged cooperation with international police.(*) END
