Infantry level Soldier serves 18 yr for following DIRECT ORDERS!
PFC, Corey Clagett, a U.S. Soldier in the infantry devision is now serving an 18 year prison sentence in Ft. Leavensworth, KS. for following Direct Orders from the infamous Col. Steele, whom you may know from acting in the movie "Black Hawk Down".
Corey along with 2 other U.S. Soldier's were in Sommara, Iraq when Col. Steele ordered them to "kill all Iraqi age males of military age". Though it may have been an unlawful order, at infantry level you can't expect them to disobey direct orders which determine if you're eligible to fight at war. Col. Michael Steele on the other hand should have known better seeing he is far beyond infantry level!
This story has been made international but still seems to be ignored. Why? Probably because most don't know the truth about what happened. They here about it, google Corey Clagett and find nothing but negative information that does not provide the whole story. However, if they were to take the time to google Corey's name along with other relevant information such as Col. Michael Steele's name they would know.
I don't know Corey or his family personally. I just came across the petition while I was in the process of doing one of my own, and unlike most people, I looked further into the situation. Corey's mother has tried desperately to do any and every thing possible to let the truth be known and help her son get fair and equall treatment.
Corey's serving an 18 yr prison sentence in a maximum security prison. Col. Steele was merely reprimanded for his actions. I won't go into too much detail but I am going to to do my best to help Corey's mother to see that this injustice is handled proprerly. She has a petition but it's not gathering signatures very often. I will add it at the bottom of the page if anyone is willing to sign it would be appreciated. All you have to do is type in your name and state to verify you support him.

know what your talking about before you start a blog. There are clear and concise orders in the military that trump all. One of them is that if it's an illegal order, it will not be followed. It's big boy rules here. Play the game and pay the piper if you lose.
