The infighting among the WAQF Board responsible for all woes

Former Palika President Mussoorie Manmohan Singh mall commended the JPC WAQF Board for visiting Mussoorie and inspecting the properties of WAQF. WAQF is  an organisation whichlooks after the properties donated by muslim for the generous cause.

He was of the view that the infighting and the petty politics among the members of the Muslim community was hindering the progress and was the biggest stumbling block in the way of reconstitution of WAQF boards and committees at district levels.  

The non existence of the authentic body has led to Encroachment on WAQF properties coupled with allegations of corruption and unfair deals have led delay in the working of the boards which was affecting the Muslim Community in Mussoorie as they were unable to open an Inter College in the WAQF property. Singh also said that the petty politics at the local levels was doing more harm to the community as the time and energy was being diverted law suits rather than charity work to be carried out by the WAQF Board. Speaking to Garhwal post he said that the initiative in saving the Waqf property has to come from within the community and he was ready to support them in this regard till the end.
