Chandra Levy Case: Ingmar Guandique Found Guilty
The jury has reached a verdict in the Chandra Levy case. Ingmar Guandique was found guilty of the murder of Chandra Levy. Ingmar Guandique was convicted of two counts of first-degree murder. The evidence against Inglar Guandique was largely circumstantial, though the Chandra Levy murder fit a pattern of crimes for which Guandique had previously been convicted.
The next step will be sentencing.
The jury deliberated over parts of four days before returning with a verdict shortly before noon Monday. The verdict has not yet been announced.
If convicted of first-degree murder, Ingmar Guandique faces a sentence of life without parole. The jury could instead find him guilty of second-degree murder, which could mean 20 years to life.
