Freeze the elderly

One way to save money is to turn off the heat for the poor and elderly. They will freeze to death and we won’t have to pay the heating bill. That’s a bonus idea. Thank you Tea Party.

“Debt Deal: No New Taxes and No Social Security or Medicare Cuts — Yet

Law creates new super-committee to set future cuts

by: Tamara Lytle | from: AARP Bulletin | Updated August 2, 2011

The deficit deal passed by Congress and signed by President Obama is a mixed bag for older Americans, with Social Security and Medicaid protected from cuts at least for now but many other federal programs likely to be trimmed.

Congress went about the mechanics of pulling the nation back from the brink of default. Senators approved the package Tuesday, 74 to 26, just hours before the nation exhausted its borrowing authority. On Monday, with Arizona Rep. Gabrielle Giffords making a dramatic appearance, the House passed the deficit compromise, 269 to 161.

The quickest impact on seniors will be the Social Security checks that arrive later this week. The president had warned that without an increase in the debt ceiling, he couldn't guarantee that the government would have enough borrowing authority to send out checks on Aug. 3.

Now those checks should go out after the measure becomes law. And one of the biggest impacts on the Social Security system — a proposal to make future cost-of-living increases smaller — is off limits in the short run.

The debt deal reached Sunday between Obama and congressional leaders, including Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell, R-Ky., would raise the debt ceiling in exchange for more than $2 trillion in spending cuts. The total is much smaller than the $4 trillion in cuts Obama and congressional leaders had first tried to come up with.

"It's inadequate. There's not a lot of dispute about that," says J.D. Foster, senior fellow at the Heritage Foundation. "We have a huge fiscal problem and this doesn't address it that much."

The first installment of nearly $1 trillion in cuts exempts Social Security and Medicare.

Where are the cuts?

But the money will have to come from somewhere. And David Certner, AARP legislative policy director, says that other programs dear to seniors could be affected — like those for nutrition, caregiving and senior job placement. Many of those programs — such as those for elderly housing and home heating assistance — already have waiting lists. Demand continues to rise as the senior population increases and the economy leaves more people in need of federal aid. After the spending cuts, even less money will be available.

"With these kinds of big, deep cuts, it will probably affect all these programs," Certner says. "We don't know exactly how these cuts will be apportioned."”

They won't even feel it.

Unless America come to it's senses about having a strong 'middle class', this country will continue on a downward spiral. A strong middle class is key in keeping this capitalist democracy strong, dynamic, and vibrant.

STATE OF THE UNION BY DUDDITS Today I awoke to chem-trails on a scale that even I thought not possible. The sky a metallic gray with wisps of off white powder descending all the way to the ground, and hazing the vista so severely that mountains only 5-10 miles away could scarcely be seen.

  • I ate and made ready to take my 10 year old son to an appointment. We drove to a neighboring town which is 20 miles away. The Chem-Trail sky was as bad or worse the entire distance. The speed limit is 35 through the thoroughfare, and I have driven it many times with no troubles.  I usually run at 35-38 mph" honestly, today at the crossing of the 2nd light a unmarked red camaro cruiser quickly pulled in behind and proceeded to pull me over. I of course complied.
  • The local officer opened his door , stood behind it while he radioed in. It seemed to me that he was taking his time about it, so I rolled down the window and stuck my head out to inquire. He immediately pointed his finger at me and instructed me to stay in my vehicle.
  • Moments later a white vehicle pulled in behind his"  two plain clothes individuals moved to the officers position. The three of them talked and then the two plain clothes persons moved to the right side and approached the passenger side and took up a position directly in front of my 10 year old son" with their hands palming their holstered weapons. The local approaching my side with the same posture" he looked in and asked me if I knew why he was pulling me over. I replied NO. He stated that he clocked me at 5 over limit, and asked for my insurance and registration, which I promptly gave him.
  • At this time one of the plain clothed persons moved around and addressed me by my name, and asked me if I had a weapon in my vehicle. It was then that I simultaneously replied with why do you want to know? At the same time seeing the ID clipped to his lapel that clearly read DHS.
  • He became abrupt and agitated and said" Alright lets cut to the chase" I am going to ask you one more time, Do you have a weapon in your vehicle. Keep in mind that my 10 year old son is siting next to me, and I could see tears welling up in his eyes, so I answered him with a no.
  • He preceded to tell me the penalties for lying to an officer about the knowledge of a weapon and disclosure. I assured him that I did not have in my possession a weapon. He proclaimed that my records indicate that I have a license to carry a weapon. To which I replied I chose not to carry a weapon with me , or in my car today because I am on errands and obviously have a young child in my vehicle today.

He replied with" Don't you think thats about a dumbass thing to do. I mean why maintain a weapon permit if you dont' carry a weapon ?

  • At this point I felt trouble, and asked if I was free to go. The local cop said he was letting me off with a verbal warning to keep my speed down, and the other again reminded me that I should have my records adjusted to reflect my not having a weapon. Told me to have a nice day.
  • After comforting my son, because he was clearly upset. We completed our errands and returned home, only to find that the tree in our front yard had collapsed from the high winds that had apparently rolled through the area while we were gone. Smashing the side of the house , and the fence, and my new grill.
  • Tonight, there have been several warplanes flying directly over our home at about 1500 - 2000 feet. With several passes that were loud and rattled the house some.
  • So" I guess this is it. This is what this Nation has come to and I am saddened to say, but I get it know. This next part is more for the Government...... I get it" I really do! You are the boss. You got the Badge and the Gun, you got the warplanes and all the power in the world. I surrender and bow to your ability's and power and promise to never - ever bother you again with my speaking out against unfairness and Legal theft. I am sorry for pointing out what I thought were bad ideas that you had. I am truly sorry for trying to exercise what I thought was my right to free speech. You have my word.

The next part is for those of you who may have read my words, who may have shared my beliefs. It was good to come here and share and seek the truth, and I now know it. Goodbye and good luck to you all.
