The International Institute of Nonviolence.
by: Rev. Jermano
President Bush according to ABC News is considering to Open a Diplomatic Outpost in Iran. America has been out of Iran for nearly 30 years, and this would be a dramatic shift in policy.
I have started The International Institute of Nonviolence and being an American think his outpost in Iran should be my International Institute of Nonviolence. I also think the US should help in this effort in other countries as well to include Pakistan, Afghanistan, Iraq, Israel, and Palestine.
It is my hope that people see the US as changing toward more of a nonviolent and nonmilitaristic country in order to gain the respect and welcome from many countries in the world. This is good news that President Bush recognizes this, and it only can help our cultural divides.
It is my hope that he will consider The International Institute of Nonviolence as the Institute that holds to its word as being a Nonviolent entity. They can not claim my Institute as irrevalent as they did to the UN, because the IION which I have created does not have the need for a military. In fact it is a Trust Building Institute, and a long term ideal that people can overcome difficulties by working together in a friendly exchange of cooperation and education.
Not only can people learn from the USA, but the USA can learn about things important to people in Iran. Perhaps we will see why they do not want democracy in other countries. Perhaps we will see that Democracy has may forms and shapes. Perhaps we will see that Communism is really Democracy, and that dictatorship is really democracy as well. Pehaps the people in Zimbabwe will come to see that violence is not the answer and that elections are not always the answer as well.
Perhaps there should be a shared leadership platform of democracy in which each side takes into consideration the needs of the other side so to ward off dissent and animosity. America would learn much from this approach as well. Why would I want to cut off my right hand, when it goes against my left? Such is goverance in knowing that we need both hands in order to help each other to live and have good lives in the world of changing ideals.
America pushes forward technology ideals and making countries to come out of their past existence Stone Age, Taliban Age, Feudal Age etc. to what? In fact oil prices going up and oil supplies going down, with global warming indicates that perhaps those old ways of doing things are a good thing at this time. Why stir trouble accusing people of preventing the new technolgy to come, when it can't be supported? Here in China Americans want to be able to export US products in the China economy, but the people can not afford the price. How is it their fault?
There needs to be a diplomatic Institute as I have started that is keen to know these things so it can bridge and fill in the assumptions made by fast moving political giants in the USA.
I only hope this Institute will go forward toward showing the world its Nonviolent Destiny. It's only good news.
