Iran and the beautiful USA
This is the first Time that I am writting an article and may not know as how to start but will try my best. I as an Iranian american lived in the US for many years, have noticed that Iranian unlike many other minorities not only love the west but adore it and one wonders WHY? it is because of persian blood, that always has a thirst for sceince and education and WEST offers the best. Iranian also love their home land unlike many other natinalities that have pretty much forgotten about their homelnad, once they arrive in the US. The persian commuinty of 3 million strong in the US and Europe is all but highly educated. In Iran as well,we see despite of all pressure ,women and men are advancing in sceince and technology and I'd say that at this point,it is all but impossible to ignore Iran's role in the world affair. Iran should not be looked at as only a regional power but a true world power, with its influence spreading from South America,to Africa and South Asia as well as Europe.Obama administration is smart enough to wanting Iran on his side since Iran can help the US in may areas of interest such as Afghanistan,Iraq,Lebanon, etc. Europe can also asks for Iran's help to resolving its gas issue with Russia and have Iran as alternative route. Iran is and will be best friend of the WEST only if the west recognize the value of its powerful foe/friend. By disrespecting Iran and branding it with lables such a terrorism makes Iran only stronger and aggersive.Iran has achieved enough goals in its foreign policy as well as sceince that no country on earth can now ignore it, Russia is smart enough to recognize this and before it is too late, west should move towards normalization.

Well the west was "normalized" with Iran until the hostage crisis. I have personally known 2 Iranian Americans and had a casual internet friendship with an Iranian whose parents immigrated to Sweden shortly after his birth as their war with Iraq began. I have found that people with Persian blood don't take a back seat to anyone regarding intelligence and passion for life, but our recent mutual history is going to be hard to overcome.
Considering the hostage crisis, people don't realize an embassy- called a diplomatic mission- is the sovereign territory of another nation within yours. It is the first step of normalized relations between two nations, when the students stormed ours in Teheran it showed their level of civility was mired in stone age brutality, law of the jungle. No state department employee will, to my knowledge, volunteer now for such a post.
Despite the popular belief, I am told the era of the last Shah saw Iran become a cultural and educational capital of the middle east. Sure he had enemies and they weren't treated well. However look what became of Iran with his passing. Many Iranians (and Americans) point to America and we are BLAMED for the Shah being there, and BLAMED now that he is not.
The account by Kermit Roosevelt about Mossadegh's demise was mostly lies. The CIA, after bay of pigs and Kennedy's death, was near being disbanded by Congress, and at the time (60's) the Shah was a shining star of success they took credit for but did not actually affect.

Suddenly, after the Shah is deposed and Iran is plunged into great chaos and ruin, that is a big story and the left in America and angry Iranians are blaming America for their problems.
Until Iran comes to grips with their internal problems and stops turning their anger towards America, they can not move forward. It allows them to play the victimcard, and humans will fall into that trap if you let them every time.
