As of 4:15 PDST CNN reports that a facebook page of Mousavi.s told protesters not to listen to misinformation from state run media.  The rallies are still on.

There is a lot of information coming out of Iran this morning.  There is a danger of misinformation.  Apparently the State has implemented a complete news blackout.  It is difficult to get confirmed information from Iran just prior to the schedule rallies.

To this point CNN has confirmed that one of the squares has been blocked off and surrounded by 200 heavily armed riot police.

Update 4:48 PDST  - Police are now surrounding two squares in Teheran.

Despite the US President's critics saying that his response towards the protests wasn't tough enough, Iran experts say the President did exactly the right thing by not taking sides.

6:00 am PDST  Posting on Moussavu site says people are heading to the rallies.  They have benn held back by riot police though.  Pictures send to CNN show the rally squares empty. There are reports that protesters have been held back with tear gas.

Iran TV says that two people have been hurt in a blast at the shrine of the Imam Khomeini.  The shrine is a large structure 20 minutes outside of Teheran.  Khomeini was the father of the Islamic Revolution in 1979.

As at 7:30 pm local Teheran time the big rallies that were seen in previous days have not materialized.  The Regime said that Moussavi would be held responsible for illegal protests.

At 9:16 PDST CNN reported that on the facebook site for Moussavi, he said that he was preparing himself for martyrdom.  This cannot be confirmed as authentic.

4:00pm PDST - FNC reports 30-40 dead and 200 wounded at this point.

The University of Chicago/students alumni have set up an alternative to Twitter in case it is blocked  by Iranian authorities. Below is the groups message:

The media blackout is so frustrating, especially to those of us with relatives in Tehran. Thanks for the post!

With due respect, Blue Crush re. link, CNNi has been unable to confirm this alleged blast due to lack of footage so far. So far, the information is provided by Press TV from Iranian authority.

"Today new video please share with the world." was a message from one of the students. The same footage is being used by CNNi and resent by an Iranian-Canadian source.

I know - I'm just doing duplicate comments on each story to make it fair.

I'm putting this video in the comment as well as in the story as this appears to be a video from Iran showing a protester who has been shot (there's some blood so viewer discretion is advised).

According to Borna News, Mousavi supporters have set fire to a mosque in Tehran, a number of people have been arrested, and a bus and several motorcycles have been set on fire. I have not seen any images of this so far.

Borna News is an Iranian run publication however so this information is hard to confirm.

This is an updated stream from Iran with recorded footage that are uploaded by several different students.  Apparently, the students have set up a single source to show footage to outside world, the BBC Persia is also using some of these footage.

This video is very graphic and disturbing, but I feel it's important to share what is happening.

A young girl is shot and dies on camera, it's terrible and tragic, so watch with caution.

Pythiian1

According to some reports and reactions by the students,  there was a young woman who might be related to one of the Twitter users who became the victim during today's skirmishes.  It's a separate incident from the footage of this young girl.

Her name was Neda, and she was just 16.

She was shot down by a Basij sniper from a rooftop, right through the heart, just an innocent bystander, there with her father.

They say her name means "voice," and now the whole world hears her.  Let it not be in vain...
