"The proposed package will definitely include Iran's nuclear issue based on an international approach," Hassan Qashqavi told IRIB Sunday.

He said that the "comprehensive and updated" package aims to prepare a ground for Iran to have more fluid interaction with the West.

"We cannot raise the nuclear issue without speaking of an international disarmament. We cannot speak of a Middle East without nuclear weapons while making no words about the more than 200 nuclear warheads of the Zionist regime [Israel]," added the spokesman.

Iran is drawing up a package of proposals, which will be presented to the international community soon with the aim of resolving the main international problems of economic, cultural and moral challenges.

They have a point but does Israel really have 200 nuclear warheads? Then if so why?

There is no way Israel will ever give up its nuclear weapons.

Has Israel really got nukes?

Israel has not confirmed that it has nuclear weapons and officially maintains that it will not be the first country to introduce nuclear weapons into the Middle East. Yet the existence of Israeli nuclear weapons is a "public secret" by now due to the declassification of large numbers of formerly highly classified US government documents which show that the United States by 1975 was convinced that Israel had nuclear weapons.

I think it is almost certain they have nukes. They have not openly said so but have hinted at it many times.  Iran has no doubt Israel has nukes, one reason Iran is making their own.

For those in doubt whether Israel does have nukes or not, I suggest reading

The Samson Option by the awarded journalist Seymour Hersh.

This is the story about Israel's nuclear program from the beginning in the 50's

until 1991 when the book was written. This book contains a lot of interesting info.

Btw, Seymour Hersh is Jewish, but I don't think he is a popular person in Israel.

The Samson Option is a term used to describe Israel’s alleged deterrence strategy of massive retaliation with nuclear weapons as a “last resort” against nations whose military attacks threaten its existence, and possibly against other targets as well. Israel refuses to admit it has nuclear weapons or to describe how it would use them, an official policy of nuclear ambiguity, also known as "nuclear opacity." This has made it difficult for anyone outside the Israeli government to definitively describe its true nuclear policy, while still allowing Israel to influence the perceptions, strategies and actions of other governments.

As early as 1976, the CIA believed that Israel possessed 10 to 20 nuclear weapons. By 2002 it was estimated that the number had increased to between 75 and 200 thermonuclear weapons, each in the multiple-megaton range. Kenneth S. Brower has estimated as many as 400 nuclear weapons. These can be launched from land, sea and air. This gives Israel a second strike option even if much of the country is destroyed.

What if this deterrent is a ploy and its false information fed by the CIA and Israel. That Israel does not really have nukes. Where are they deployed, you can not keep such a secret for so long?

I feel stating someone has a nuclear deterrent is just as powerful as actually having one. I have had my doubt for some while in fact since India and Pakistan made bold statements that they had a nuclear deterrent. Why has Israel not declared they also have a deterrent, USA has already stated they have?

Of course no body could take a chance on the factor that Israel had no deterrent it then becomes a Soloman's Option for those at war with Israel.

Sir, I recommend that you read the book I mentioned. There is no doubt that the IDF has got nuclear weapons. The book has got several pages of links to sources on this subject.

This book also reveals the political wheeling and dealing to cover up this business. In the US and in France as well as in Israel. By the way, Pres. Kennedy was strongly against nuclear proliferation, and fell out with the Israelis over this not long before he was assassinated.    Israel is also supposed to have used it's nuclear arsenal to blackmail the US into airlifting    vital supplies to Israel during the Yom Kippur war in '73.

If you want a shorter version, try a report written for USAF Counterproliferation Center, Maxwell Air Force Base, Alabama USA.                                                                        http://www.au.af.mil/au/awc/awcgate/cpc-pubs/farr.htm     -    enjoy!

The US attacked Iraq because of allegation made by the CIA that Iraq had Nuclear weapons and other ABC weapons.

The US has not attacked Israel even though Israel has refused to cooperate with UN inspectors and the International Nuclear Institutions concerned where as Iraq did let the UN in as well as inspectors prior to the US attack and the UN report clearly stated that Iraq has no such weapons, still it was attacked.

Israel may or may not have those weapons and can get away with it either way.

Iran makes a good point that should be taken seriously.

Either we have one rule for all or we do not. If we want peace and justice we better make certain it is one rule for all and this has to include the US and Israel as well as others concerned here.

Israel will have to comply with UN inspectors and prove it has no such weapons and it will have to agree to be monitored in the same way we demand Iran to be monitored.

If the US do not want Iran to have Nuclear weapons then they better start destroying their own stock pile of over 2800 war heads and lead by example.
