Iran's Deputy foreign minister Mohammed Mehdi Akhoondzadeh today said that the Islamic Republic is willing to take active part in the rebulding of the war-torned neighbour, Afghanistan.

Iran is willing to take part in international efforts to rebuild Afghanistan and to combat drug trafficking in the war-shattered nation, its deputy foreign minister said Tuesday.

"Iran is fully prepared to participate in the projects aimed at combatting drug trafficking and the plans in line with developing and reconstructing Afghanistan," he said in a speech provided to the media ahead of delivery.

The remarks, by Deputy Foreign Minister Mohammad Mehdi Akhoondzadeh, were prepared for delivery at a major international conference on Afghanistan in The Hague.

this is a god development, Iran has already agreed to join the US led confrence on Afghanistan.

Al-qaida has been trying to start a conflict between US and Iran. which would result in huge Iranian loss and more US trouble by waging war on another country. Al Qaida never tried to hide its hate for Iran (mortal Shia enemy) and US for obvious reasons..

I think both countries can do better by ending the hostilities against each other, that will be a big setback for taliban and Al Qaida.
