Once the dominant Religion in the World was Christianity mainly due to massif forced conversions at first. Forcing out all other religions through out Europe with barbaric religious War that went on for over 800 years.

This was followed by Missionaries going around the World with Colonising Army's from Spain, Portugal, France, Great Briton for the most part, again forcing Christianity onto Native Populations and slaves.

Today after 1600 years of violence and forceful Missionaries, Christianity has calmed down a bit and is somewhat more peaceful starting to follow the message of Peace and Love from the initial teacher, being Christ.

This however not before going through a blood bath and extreme intolerance toward any other believe in and around the World!

After the Second World War and its atrocities many never wanted to ever have to go true such blood shed and suffering ever again, it was just to horrific of a time!

People began to search for the trues and a way to keep peace, questioning every thing from politics to religion that has broth us so much pain and injustice. Even though WWII had just been over for a decade, new friction arose with the two blocks that lead to the Cold War.

This in turn broth us to the end of an era, the end of the Colonies and the beginning of new wars in Asia and Africa, namely the Algerian War and the Vietnam War as well as the Korean War.

All this new violence and those new barbaric Wars lead to a rebellion with in the Western Society, it was the Hippy Movement and the may 1968 uprising through out Europe, Eastern as well as Western Europe!

People where in deed distress with the reality of their World and wanted change as well as Justice, Peace and harmony for all Humans on Earth. A hole Generation went on a quest to find exactly that and rebelled in every way they could, defying their Parents, authorities and even the Church was rejected by many. Seen as hypocritical and a living lie!

Many embraced Buddhism and other Asian Religion in form of unconscious Solidarity with those that our Government where wagging war against, namely Vietnam and Korea! After those wars the numbers of Westerners Converting to Eastern Religions dropped dramatically, many started to embrace Atheism being disillusioned with all religion as they started to see that even Eastern religions are not always practised as they where meant to be!

Only Very few came back to the Christian faith, that has been in decline ever since!

Since the Late 1990 as the Western Nations such as the USA and Great Briton started waging war again, only this time not against Asian Countries, but against Middle Eastern Countries and Minor Asia as well as Africa, a noticeable increases in conversion to the Islamic Faith has taken place in the Western Countries.

Some seem to worry and other out right panic and cry Wolf, seeing more and more Mosques go up and being well attended in Cities such as London, Paris and Berlin. Failing to see what is causing the rise in the popularity with Islam, especially in countries such as Germany where the percentage of converts to Islam is the Highest in all Western Nation, just as Germany had one of the Highest conversion rates to Buddhism and Atheism in the 1960 till the 1970.

Part of the reason of this massive growth in Conversion to the Islamic Faith is an almost unconscious rebellion against the Politics of the Western Nations toward the Islamic Countries and a gesture of solidarity and sympathy to the people suffering under the Western Military Forces.

Should peace return and stability be re-established I am rather certain that the growing rate of converts will slow down and even maybe reverse! It is actually not Islam that can be blamed in any way, since our Western Politics and Business practices are the very cause and reason for this phenomenon!

A drastic change in our governments foreign policies and our capitalistic Business practices is what is needed and wanted by the Western Youth and general Population.

The conclusion would be that we are the only one to be blame for the Movement and we are the only that are causing it and that will end up having to bear the consequences as well!

Islam by it self is no better or worth than Christianity or Judaism are! Justice is what the World wants and deserves!

In my opinion, western politics see Islam religion as a threat. They try their best to apply devide et impera (once applied by  Julius Cesar). It happen once in Indonesia, when Indonesia was colonized by Netherland. So many "Missionaries" was assigned to changed their (Indonesian People) religion to be like them (missionaries). History tell, missionaries was made on their way to success in doing their job in Indonesia, but the fact only some island which is rural island.

The conversion to Islam is nothing to do with rebellion, is all about the truth. People nowadays is smarter than ever. They are looking for a truth, truth about the incident that happen in US 9/11 for instance.

Like you said, Islam by it self is no better or worth than Christianity or Judaism are! Justice is what the World wants and deserves!

You are correct in your assessment in my opinion! Yet lets not forget that all three major religion have much blood on their hands through out history all in the name of a God! Failing to follow their own teachings of peace, respect, justice and Love!

Yes, Justice is what the World wants and deserves! As well as peace and equality!

Thank you for your comment here, I appreciated it!

Exactly, Paschen. It all happened, and it's all happening, in the name of God; God who never taught us to do so, not a single holy scripture guide us this way. It's just we, our political motives, our thirst for more, that leads us this way.

For sure, as you said, Justice is what the world deserves as well as peace and equality, after-all we all have 46 chromosomes. :-)

Thanks for the post, it's really amazing and informative.

Peace!

I like your comment but I am unsure as to what you mean by "The conversion to Islam is nothing to do with rebellion, is all about the truth."  Are you saying Islam is the truth?  Though I have my own views, I would ask anyone who claims a particular religion is the truth to express their proof for all to see.  I don't see the relationship between how the events of 9/11 tie into a conversion to Islam based on truth.

may be many poeple are upset about events of 11/9 but you should not juge areligion without reading about it .moslems respect all heaven religions but i do not think that the bad caricture of prophet mouhamad show the respect of christians to heaven religions

Evern though they are abused , they will not support or tolerate the caricature of the frog which is shown as crucified by some guy....This is because muslims chose to respect other religions. I guess  You are on the right track by not approaching the issue by a prejudice.I appreciate that.

Paschen, I like this story. It's good stuff.

We reap what we sow. Now that is the truth. Reap violence and get violence. Reap Nonviolence you get Nonviolence. American politicans need to give up the Military card. It has no place in the world. The only real power is Nonviolence.

I will add my two pennies, I think Islam like any other religion is good, its how people interpret it. My opinion is, any religion which believes in numbers, can not be a true religion. Any religion which thinks that you have to embrace their religion to attain a level of spirituality, is just playing the numbers game. This is like an election of any country, everyone wants numbers.

I beleive that, you do not have to be a Christian to pray to Jesus. I studied in a christian missiorary school, prayed to Jesus, used to think he is a Hindu God, I go to Mosques and pray to god, I dont have to convert to Islam to know that Mohammed was god's messenger. I really dont think you have to convert to another religion find your path to enlightment.

Thank you for the comment here and the flag below, I do appreciate it very much jaydeepmensa! As to your comment, it is an interesting view and I always tot I am the odd one! :) I do pretty much the same, in my family we have Moslems, Christian, Buddhist and Atheist, yet we all go to the Mosque and the Church, the Shrine, Temple and on occasion we visit Friends at the Synagogue! We have many races in our family and religions, yet we all get rather well along since we also respect one another and care for one another, putting the well being of the Family and peace to be a priority! We have those that are married and those that are not yet live together, and still get along and we all are from West Africa, Europe and Asia and never ran into a problem. We do argue and have heated debates yet nothing ever could divide us for we know and I was tot that in the end we all want the same thing, Peace, Justice and a Future and we all have the same red blood running through our vanes! Looking for what we have in common rather than to look for what divides us may be the key to more peace and Justice in this World!

Thank you for you input here, I do appreciate it!

Why the message to the story?

JAYDEEPMENSA, you are a advanced 21st century "thinker" multitasking multiuser, your definition of your way deserves respect; it is the most complicated. When people not understand their life, then mostly they turn to religion not action, that's the problem. I think all great religion founders would either hate or laugh  to what has been converted their effort from the bussy followers that know only the dogma "Do you believe in my religion"?

hi jaydeep you are rare but is that possible in with any christian praying in hindu school and still remaining christian.

yes i agree it is a number game conversion to any religion for me is a sick mentality.instead of converting the religions should focus on world hunger

Perhaps as well Muslims are rightly pissed for being thrown out by the millions in Europe, mainly Spain and the south of France in the 15th century, after having settled there for like 800 years before, where Muslims lived in relative peace, establishing our language, culture, sciences and art.

Sort of understandable to be a tad pissed to be uprooted by the Pope and the Spanish Inquisition ,when for 800 years, Spain and France were pretty much the only home you knew, and then to be shipped off to Morocco and Libya to live the rest of your live in a friggin desert, would sort of want some payback Religion wise, in gaining as many followers of Islam so as to never again go through what their ancestors went through and never forget.

Holy Crap, isn't that what Israel is doing, isn't that what the Christan Palestinians are doing. Boy you think Israel and Palestine would learn from Histories mistakes and try and work things out. Guess Not!

Oh yeah, one more thing a 2,500 years ago, Ireland was ruled and founded by a Turkish dynasty, though Islam would not be established for another 1,600 years, imagine if you will if Saint Patrick were not captured, and the Turks fended of the Viking invaders, and still ruled Ireland today, what Ireland would be like?

Saint Pats parades would be  a combo of Turkey and Thanksgiving Parade, with all the Islamic Trimmings.

And "Lucky Charms" Breakfast Cereal would be replaced by "Jihad Charms"  Death to the West, Breakfast cereal, with a "prize explosive" in every box to give your morning a BANG!.

Now wouldn't that be a kick in the Religious  "Nibbly bits!"

Better stop now, my Redneck is starting to show through again.

Just call me Cliff Clavin, giving answers to a question no one asked!

Pachen san' i like your article, thank you for sharing it...

Many people profess to believe that there is only one 'God' who has created mankind and entire universe. Yet, most of those who profess this belief fall short in their understanding of pure and absolute oneness of 'God'.

The followers of Christianity declare that there is only one 'God', but can the 'Holy Bible' and its scholars providea clear, simple and unconfusing concept of 'God'.?

In the Qur'an, the holy book of the Islamic faith, the correct beliefs about 'God' (said in the Arabic language, 'Allah') has been perfectly out lined...

"We all believe in one God"

"My brothers, we must tell the world that differences don't need to lead disputes," The tragedies we have experienced throughout history were not fault of religion but because of extremism that has been adopted by some followers of all the religions."

Maraming salamat po!!!

Thank you for your very insightful comment here danesller0127, I do appreciate it!

We may all fall short of understanding the pure oneness of the God concept and the Universe as well. Most Scholars in the area still have trouble defining it them self!

As scriptures says, You shall not make an image of God and yet we make many images. In other religions the approach is somewhat different and yet all fail to follow the teaching of their respective religions for the most part!

I would conquer with you that Religious differences do not matter nor should they lead to disputes. It is correct that the tragedies experienced through out History where Politically and Monetary Motivated and Religion was used or miss used to convey the Masses to the quest of Holy Wars!

As Mahatma Gandhi said to the House of Lords in London England some 50 years ago,

" You call your self Christian yet do not follow your teaching, if all Christian would live as Christ preached on the Sermon of the Mountain, then all Hindu would convert to Christianity!" It was a Wise observation he made!

Your welcome!!!

King Abdullah, Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, has said in his speech at the conclusion of last week's world interfaith Conference on Dialogue which was held in Madrid, Spain; that it was God's will that people should differ in their faiths and that man had the abillity to overcome hatred with love, and extremism with tolerance. Has received worldwide praise for bringing to the table the noble principles and morals at the core of all religions, and which bind peoples together...

That is a rare and absolutely great statement he made. I will look up the hole speech since I did miss it! Thank you for bringing that up here! I do really appreciate it!
